It's seeming to become easier to just release a **** song, then any child in a tracksuit will have it on their phone and then it's popular
and its just the same lyric over and over again
it really gets to me lol

I think that's one disadvantage of this digital age. Years ago if you wanted to make music, you made a demo tape, sent it to a record label and if they thought it was good enough, you made an album and so forth. As a result the music you heard had at least been filtered in that it was deemed good enough by a record label to justify making it.

Now that anyone with a computer and a lack of a basic grasp of English can make music, we have this incessant, mind numbing, puerile, banal, mindless, crap spewed out at us wherever go, infected our lives and driving us to the point of madness or despair and I hate it. I hate all this bloody awful crap. I mean what the hell does "Crank dat Soulja boy" even mean??!! What language is it supposed to be in because it's sure as hell isn't English. If I hear that song one more time, I may not be accountable for my actions.

*breaths*

Tribute by Tenacious D, I think, is a prime example of a good, yet over played song.

^^ True.

I don't know though, because with me if I find a song I love I over play it myself. It gets put on repeat for days. But I think there's somehow a difference between overplaying a song yourself because you like it so much, and a song being overplayed on the radio, and out etc.

Change the voices in your head,
Make them like you instead

The most recent offender is Puddle of Mudd- Psycho, they play the song at least 2 dozen times a day, on 4 of the stations I listen to, and one time I had 3 stations playing it at the same time, I hate the F***ing song now, I can't stand it it makes me wanna vomit. Lets see, Coming undone- Korn got annoying after a while, and that "How to save a life" song got friggen annoying. That stupid rap song, 'Smack that' is annoying and I've never actually heard the song, cause i hate rap.

Oh yes and any of the new linkin Park s*** is annoying too, they play 2 songs right after each other, and I used to like linkin Park too.

Finally the most overplayed and overused song in america, probably the world by now has to be Bodies by drowning pool, I mean I llllooooooovvvvvveeeeeee this band, but I hate that song cause they play it too much.

Take me away, I just want out from this self-imprisoned self-made Hell. Don't be surprsed, this is your mind coming to life by self-sacrifice. This tragedy of death will walk hand in hand with every thought of regret. Blame yourself for what you've become. The mind is a powerful thing set to self-destruct.

not sure if this has been mentioned - really sorry if it has - but Rockstar by Nickelback. it was a really good song that i heard ages ago, and loved it along with all their other songs, and i was practically the only one in my class who'd heard it, then all of a sudden.. BOOM! everyone in every class, out of every cliche, they play it over and over... especially in the changing rooms and it's like.. GAH O_O

Moved on. Take care.

Overplayed songs make me sad.
Seriously though, I really hate it when a song I like gets released because it usually means I'll hear it a million and one times a day and concequently want to blow up my cd.
When I start overplaying songs myself I usually just slap myself and switch to something else for a while :)
