I didn't watch it, but checked out some of the songs on YouTube.
Quite frankly, I think there were quiet a number of songs that were better than Conchita's. Then again, as it's all really subjective I will try not to assume that people just went overboard with being politically correct when voting for her.

I think its more she captured people hearts and attention and admirations (not the right word but close enough). And that we all just didn't vote for our neighbour is a turn up for the books!

And gosh I thought our song (UK) was dreadful :S

Not sure I've heard the UK one, wasn't impressed with Germany at all.
