I tried that several times before and well lets just say it seems that when you try your best at helping out it certainly doesnt do you any good. Nothing personal just how i feel. Sorry to interrupt.

would there be training and such like there is for the supporters for the forums, email, etc...? or, not training exactly, but like the information pages about what to do, what not to do, mentoring for people joining the team, that sort of stuff

this is my magical medicine cabinet. Left to right they contain: courage, hope, calmness, and strength.

There will be some information PMd to people who are supporters, but there isnt any info needed about emails, forums because theres nothing regarding that aspect.

There wont be much need for mentoring either as far as Im aware unless someone is really in need. Problems will be sent in in the form of logs as usual.

You start life with a clean slate. Then you begin to make your mark. You face decisions, make choices. You keep moving forward. But sooner or later there comes a time where you look back over where you have been and wonder who you really are.

I do, I like them, Sam I Am! (Sorry, couldn't resist).

I'll go ahead and put my name in the hat. I know I'm not on chat all that often, but I am on RYL quite a bit. I might as well spend the time on chat rather than seeing what trouble I can get into on the forums. I am doing some crazy overtime this month, though, so it might be Feb. before I can commit to 2-3 hours 3 days a week.

Its great that there is a ton of interest about this

Then wear the gold hat, if that will move her;
If you can bounce high, bounce for her too,
Till she cry "Lover, gold-hatted, high-bouncing lover,
I must have you!"

As I said in my previous post, there wont be mentoring as such.Information will be sent out in PMs regarding how to support in chat etc, but unless its really needed then there isnt much of a need for it.

But as this is a trial we will be seeing how it goes.As I said in my first post, this isnt really the place for this, this was just a sign up sheet and more information will be in another thread.

Can i interject slightly and just say that its going to be far easier when it comes to picking who is suitable if we see you supporting in chat on a regular basis as it is.

I'm sorry that you feel this way.
When you put your name forward to be a Supporter, the team look at your posts around the forums etc. You could put your name forward again, if you wish.

I also agree with Katie. There is a lot more to being a Supporter than meets the eye and I know that my mentoring helped me a lot with knowing what to reply to people. Stickies and information sheets are all very well and are useful, I just think that more should be thought about this. Sorry if I'm out of place writing this.

Anyway, you've said that this discussion isn't for this thread, I just don't want Katie's points to be disregarded.

It hasnt been disregarded....I answered the questions asked, but this thread is just a sign up sheet. Also just for the record I have been a supporter before I was a mod so I do know how that works.

Steph, this is still very much in the planning stages, i think its going to take at least a month to actually roll out.

If you think you can dedicate some time to supporting in that time it would be a great idea, but please remember to put your own mental health first.

x

Can you download a different browser? When I downloaded puffin browser, I can access chat n that. It's annoying thou coz it doesn't auto scroll very well and the key pad can get in the way.
