Yeah, I was a bit miffed to see Voldemort simply go poof and turn into a cloud of dust. WTF?
Also, as soon as Luna was introduced I always thought that she was perfect for Harry.

Edit: Can somebody tell me what the big deal is with bloody Helena Bonham Carter? I can't stand her as an actress, & think somebody else could have played Bellatrix better.
I think it's because she has a good sized chest. What other assets is she missing? Mmmm
Okay, her appearance is just wicked. Usually that would be an insult, but it works in this and Sweeny Todd.

TROLOLOL. Like who, Halle Berry? LAWL
Nous avons abrité tous les rêves du monde,

OhmyGodric, me too. I literally snorted both times I saw it. I also laughed when Voldie laughed (AHEH-HUH-HUH.) and when he was firing the killing curse at Harry because he sounded really camp.
Also, I will defend Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix until my teeth fall out. I think she does the manic-dominator-but-completely-infatuated-with-Voldie thing so, so beautifully. But that's just my opinion.
I am still in love with Alan Rickman's performance.
Now I'll play your ghost as my ace, whenever I'm led astray.
But I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted.
I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.
Hey, about my post about Helena Bonham Carter, just so you know I didn't mean it to come across as though she was a terrible actress in every film she's done - she's not, I liked her performance in Sweeney Todd but that's the only one I've liked her in. She just doesn't 'click' for me as Bellatrix, I'm afraid! I kind of imagined somebody different, but I'm not sure who. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, I'm not saying everyone else is wrong & I'm right. I'm sorry if it came across that way.
Does anyone else think that in the epilogue, Hermione still looked the same age? :)
Also, Marie, I am also in love with Alan Rickman's performance. Think he deserves to win some kind of award.
^ That's fair enough :] I didn't mean to sound so snappy >_< I should have put a smiley face :P
There's a few actors that I just don't 'get' that other people do, so I getcha. Sorry 'bout that ^_^
I thought they did a pretty poor job of ageing them for the epilogue. Ginny looked awful xD
But yes. Alan Rickman. The man deserves everything this year.

Yeah I really think he deserves them all! I got so upset at Snape's memories, thought he acted it beautifully & when Dumbledore asked him if he still loved Lily (or something similar, can't remember exact line) & he said 'Always,' I just cried. It was fantastic :)
Ron & Draco looked cool when they were older, the others looked a little bit silly.
Please tell me 'NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH' made it on. Or I will just not go to watch it.
Yes that line made it
I have not read the books, I enjoyed the films and i'm guessing to have a proper perspective/insight of HP i'd have to read the books.
I also have to say that although some of you don't like Helena BC, i personally think she played Bellatrix fantastically :)
I saw the film today. I was expecting it to really inspire me and enthrall me like the book did, but it just didn't.I felt like there was loads missing. Neither of the deathly hallows films really did anything for me.

I obviously wasn't watching the same Alan Rickman...
I thought he did very well in those scenes, but the award stuff is nonsense. He's not going to get any. It's just the mega fans deciding that he must get an award because he's Snape.

It's more eloquent in my head, promise.
I totally agree. Yes, it was probably the best acting of Snape in the films, but it wasn't the best acting ever.
First of all, I've seen this film twice now, both in 3D (thank goodness an Orange Wednesday) and in 2D, and I can say it definitely wasn't worth the 3D price. The glasses were, as they always are, really annoying, although they did hide my tears which I guess is a slight positive...
Anyway, in much agreement with everyone else, Alan Rickman was amazing. I probably wouldn't say award worthy, although I still reckon he'll get one, but it was absolutely beautiful. I cried when he died, just because I knew all along he was doing everything to protect Harry, and it broke my heart to see him have himself sacrificed like that. All for the love of one woman. I mean he gave up 7 years of his teaching life at Hogwarts to protect the son of the woman he could never have. It's just, monumental to how strong the emotion of love is. When they did the princes tale I cried my eyes out (although I imagined it a bit better in the book.)
I was annoyed at how little time Fred's death was given. The bit that did it for me though was when the twins were standing together, in one of the astronomy towers I presume? And they just reassure eachother. I just thought to myself, oh gosh, you're not gonna make it. But Fred's death is such a huge thing in the book, it just doesn't seem to make any sense to not have more time dedicated to it. Maybe not so much to the death itself, but definitely the after-effects with George after he lost his twin. You saw the closeness of their relationship in the Deathly Hallows part 1 when George lost his ear.
I was very dissapointed by all the romancing going on. There has never been any chemistry between Ginny and Harry, and her little yelp when she found out he'd died just didn't really feel real to me. Equally, their kiss wasn't anything special. Likewise, Ron and Hermione's get-together was a major let down. The kiss was absolutely awful, very anticlimatic as someone else has already put it and just didn't stir any kind of emotion for me. It did seem a bit fake to have them not only all marry eachother, but each have children at exactly the same time for them to all be put on the Hogwart's Express at the same time. Although I guess you can't please everyone, the 19 years later bit was a nice way to wrap up the story I think.
I thought Minerva was absolutely, amazing. Her and Neville. Oh my gosh, they were (in the words of Ron Weasley) bloody brilliant. Seriously. You saw the real maternal instinct McGonagall held for Harry finally started to show. She's always had a protective side for him, but she pulled out all stops at the most opportune moment, captured all the appropriate emotion and went for it! For me, this film also paid so much testament to Neville. Honestly, you look back to the first film when one of his biggest achievements was to face up to Malfoy, and here he faced up to thousands of Death Eaters, a final horcrux and even Voldemort. That, my friends, is why he was placed in Gryffindor.
For me, one of the best bits in the film was when Harry entered the Black Forest and used the Resurrection Stone. It's easy to assume that Harry doesn't know much about death, kind of why he's only really affected by it after he sees Cedrig dies, because he was so young. He's occasionally longed for his family, but I've never really felt it with him. But when he called out "Mum..." and rushed forward to touch her hand. When he couldn't, it absolutely broke my heart. And when she said "Always" and when she said "You brave boy" and when she said "Mama loves you Harry, Dada loves you harry, be brave, be strong." I couldn't cry enough tears. Honestly. It's just so beautiful and heart felt.
I think that's why the entire Harry Potter series, both books and films are so special to so many people. They show a journey that a group of normal kids, that most of us have managed to relate to in our lives (ignoring the slight issue of muggle-hood) all go on to achieve great things.
Overall, a great way to end the series.
Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world awaits in darkness for the light that is you.
I lol'd SO hard at Voldemort giggling during the battle of Hogwarts. It was the least menacing laugh in all of existence.
Beyond that, the movie was pretty good. Obviously not as good as the books, but they made the best of it that they could. I wish they could have gone into the minor character sub-plots a little more, but honestly, if they had, the movies would have been like four hours long.
My roommate and I were saying they they should have made it into a TV series. One book per season, then they could fit all the details in!
Yeah, a Harry Potter tv series, would actually be a neat idea. But I don't think us westerners are quite used to stories being serialized the way they are in anime.
Also, whatever you have to say about Alan Rickman, he had an awesome character to work with.
The movie was brilliant! I cried like 7 times. Then I cried at the end just because its all over now. Harry Potter was my childhood man. It's really sad to see it go.
