Liz, you should really think about doing bespoke work as a self-employed type thing. People would pay good money for custom art work, especially of such an incredible quality. Would definitely be worth looking into commissioned drawings and such.

Guys. Leave this, or take it up by PM - it's seriously detracting from the thread. I know that people are getting worked up because it's the wonderful Liz we're discussing, but you're drawing out an argument that just isn't worth drawing out.

See if you can get a portfolio together, speak to local artists about how they market their work too.

Lol charlie, I was thinking the exact same thing 'star an arguement in my thread?...I close the thread.' :P
I owuld love to be a self employed artist. I think, howveer, thinking rationally I should finish my degree first. At least the first one (5 year course, BSc after 3 years and MArch after 5), considering i just passed second year. But at the same time my head is like 'rargh. You are not happy doing this. You would be happy doing that. Go do it.' . I kind of have a portfolio but it's all photographs of work instead of actual work. I shall try and contact local artists.
Also, Jo:

The ballerina is stunning. I'd think twice about selling that one. Keep it for your portfolio and sell prints (if you scaled the prints up to A3 size would it mess with the proportions? I can see people paying £30-£40 easy for A3 print of the ballerina).
You could do mini postcard size prints as well of some of your favourites to sell for a couple of quid too.
I see two main routes. Either displaying at an independant art gallery and selling mainly prints, or doing commisions for portraits etc and selling the original for more money. Again I imagine A3 size would sell for more than A4.
Finishing your degree is probably wise, but if this takes off now then its definately something you could think about doing full time after your degree.
The ballerina Is no longer in my possesion - it was a present for a little girl I know, because a previous drawing I did for her got destroyed by her brother. And due to it beign a present I would feel bad then making money out of it. if I do start selling things, it will have to be things specifically created for beign sold, i think.

I think they're stunning but since i know nothing about art/prices i wont comment on that type of stuff.
All i'd say is build up a portfolio, keep doing your degree, get your talent noticed; art galleries, internet, craft fairs etc (prints of your images etc).
I was thinking of cards, like an A5 (ish) card with a small drawing in the middle and then signed. Or do small drawings and then print them onto the cards and sell them in themed packs or something.
If you go to craft fairs and stuff now and see what sells you can cater for it. Long term granted your worth much more than that but short term for some cash and to get noticed it might be worth doing.

Wow, I think I've seen some of your stuff aroud RYL before (way back, somewhere in the depths of some thread or another) and thought they were brilliant, but these are even better.
Good luck with it all, be confident in your ability because you have talent :)
But yeah, definitley advise you at least finish your degree ;) xxx
Its weird the two drawings are so different in style .it looks like two different people drew them.Just shows how felixible you are !
