That's the spirit! ;)

And I might have to start Tuesday as I have realised that I am going to be so exhausted on Monday that I'll likely be quite ill and I have work and the youth group, so fitting a run in will be interesting. Tuesday, okay?

hmmm im so tempted but i just can't run, but this seems like a good place to start but then hmmmmm

my usual attitude to running is only if a man with a knife is chasing me but the podcasts sound good

I find wearing a sports bra a size smaller than usual helps with the second issue :) And a very light jog instead of a run may help too...

I didn;t even get home on Friday till 9 pm so I did my run Saturday. I had one of my SILs go with. Did fairly well. I did 3 sets in place because she thought she was going to throw up and needed to stop but rather than stop I just walked and jogged in place. Today's I may not do. I have a migraine and am at work... :( I'll go later if I feel better but I think Mon, Wed, Fri works best for me usually and don't wanna mess up the schedule so if I don't go today I'll skip it till Wed.

Have just got back from my second run. Was getting a stitch while I was walking but was fine while I was running, how does that work?! Made the mistake of going out in my uni waterproof though, not only because it didn't rain, but also cos I felt embarassed going round in uni stash back here, and cos it was really hot!! But I'm really glad I got out and about and out of the house. Has given my day a purpose.

I'm going to do this tomorrow. I've not listened to the first podcast or anything but should it take around 20 minutes, do you think? I'm not sure whether to devise a specific route or see where the podcast takes me? Because otherwise I'll end up somewhere randomly, far from home, and have finished and be dead and everything... no, I'm not dramatic at all. I appear to be incoherent this evening - am I making sense?

I didn't get a chance to do my run today, however I did cycle for an hour and swim for an hour and a half, so I dont feel too guilty about not doing it.

It takes about half an hour. The week one runs are 5mins warm up 8*60secondrun/90secondwalk and then a 5min cool down. Do NOT skip the cool down, your body really needs it.

I tend to run around the housing estate/woods near where I live which is an area I know quite well and and can usually judge where I'll be at what time. But if not, why not run in one direction until you have done 4 runs, and then turn around? Then you'll be near home once you've finished.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you have done the run or not. The main reason I started this thread was that exercise has been proven to help mental health conditions (ok, except anorexia when the patient is medically at risk), and so even if you don't do a run, getting some exercise is a positive step. I think I just find the c25k useful because it TELLS me what to do, and so there is less kind of decision making in my own mind.

Yes, idea, I lack common sense I think :) I'll do that.
Hopefully I don't die tomorrow :P

I explored a trail through the woods behind a park a few blocks from my house when I did my first run. It was nice... lots of stuff to see while I jogged :)

Belle I was meant to start yesterday but had no Ipod headphones so I'll be running today too.

I do a fair bit of exercise anyway so gonna see how a week 1 run feels today. May skip straight to week 2 for rest of week if its too easy (...prepares to die now I've said that!)

I started this today :) I thought it was going to kill me but I totally survived - and I haven't done any proper exercise for getting on for two years or something.

I ran in my local park, which happens to be enormous, and, after completing my '5 minute brisk walk' at the end, promptly realised I was utterly lost :P. It took me another 40 minutes to actually find my way back out - so route planning is definitely a skill I need to learn!

Oh and I started to get a bit of a stitch whilst walking, too, but not whilst hobbling along 'running'. Twas odd!

The music's not too bad either and as long as it was louder than my breathing I didn't mind it. Really the worst part was passing people because I was super embarrassed and really conscious that I was going bright red, but I'm hoping that gets better over time.

Hope everyone gets on okay! Good luck!

I doubt I'm going to go out on my run tonight. I only got four hours sleep last night and I had my first day at my new job today 9-3 and I'm shattered!! But I'll see how I am after dinner - I haven't eaten enough today really to go for a run, so I'll have to see how much I manage at dinner.

My second run was Monday... It was still hard and while my sister in law improved (7.5 of 8 sets rather than 5 of 8) we decided to do week one twice. Aside from that it was nice. Sprinkling so we kept pretty cool but we also weren't as slow (didn't stop/jog in place so long) so we went farther on the trail and got to a place we hadn't gotten to before and ended up going out an exit we weren't used to and walking around the rest of the area to where we came in at lol
We'll see how today goes.

Yesterday's run was hard. We made it through all of it without stopping but we did do 2 of the runs in place. We had to squeeze it in amongst everything else that was going on so we didn't eat until after the run and we ran at about 930 pm so I think part of why the run was so hard was the fact we hadn't eaten dinner...
How has everyone else's runs been going?
