I do that! And brothers and sisters are always "our Joe" etc when talking to others.

Mum is Mum, Mummy, mere, ma belle mere, mutti, or Cathie (That's her name. When we're out 'clubbing' together, I'm not allowed to cal her mum :P )

I have nothing to do with my father - but if I'm talking about him, I call him by his first name.
