Marie: Pancake Recipe Without Eggs
  • 2 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 pint milk
  • A pinch of salt
Procedure
Take a large bowl and mix flour, sugar, and salt in it. Make a batter by adding in gradual amount of milk. Do not let the clots form. Keep on beating the mixture for at least ten minutes. While beating, add the melted butter to it and beat it again. Leave the mixture to set for 10 minutes and bake them individually on a griddle. Add a layer of maple syrup between each of the pancakes and serve!

Gabz. You're brilliant.
I really love you.

Imma try and make some later.

I've just remembered that if you make too many pancakes you can freeze them (put a piece of greaseproof paper between each one) :)

Lemon juice and sugar is probably the most widely used 'topping' for sweet pancakes. It's nice because it's not too sharp and not too sweet... perfect... and the sugar melts a bit too if you put it on immediately after cooking the pancake. My dad works in ASDA and he says they sell more lemon and lime juice at this time of year than they do any other time!

I want some more now but I had too many last night!

Yes!

I don't especially like them but I make them for me and my dad every year and I'll have a small one. Any more than that is too much I think.

Anyhoos, my parents have bough the ready made type mixes, haha.
If it was just me, I'd make them myself, but I don't think anyone else would eat homemade ones for some reason

Well yeah, but I was thinking more of the tradition in it than the now commercialised aspect. =P

I usually eat home made ones, but I make them all year round so it's not exactly a big thing. Andddd, I love pancakes.

I love pancakes so much.

Yayy. I have eaten my Nutella pancake :)
I cannot have any more than one... so sickly.
So that's me done for another year.

Apart from Ham and Cheese in a pancake but not a sugary one.
I had that at Alton Towers once. Heaven ;)

I've decided to give up chips and crisps for lent. Bit random, but I did it once when I was little and succeeded, so want to see if I have the same willpower now. Will be gorging upon crisps tonight.

Not having pancakes, but did have a griddle-cake type thing a couple of weeks ago. Was so good. Am having risotto.

I still haven't made mine.

I think you'll find it's called something different in America? On my Calender it says 'fat tuesday'/ Mardi gras, it also says Martes de carnaval and Fastnacht. I think that it all means the same as shrove tuesday but it's just what you call it in different countries.

The pancakes for our Shrove Tuesday are really crepes :P so they're thinner and honestly the lemon & sugar thing is lush. But its not surprising you haven't heard of it, "real" pancakes should have butter and an asston of Mrs Butterworths.
