Hi, I've never been in this thread before, but I guess I've never experienced such strong dissociation before. I was reading a manga that I used to read when I was younger and it was like it triggered a weird deja-vu feeling, but I couldn't remember what it was about, and then I saw my reflection and I thought "that's not me" and I started crying. I don't know what's wrong with me and I'm scared :/

(Hugs rose) triggers & emotional. Flashbacks. Are quite scarey. Just try to distract yourself with something else...Tv..music...games...take deep breathes.
I'm so sorry that things are so rough for you right now, L! Hope things get a little easier in time, and that you feel much safer soon!
And sorry about the link, it worked for a day, then I had a fit of delusions, and I edited the link so it wouldn't work. I can send it in PM if you'd like.
And DollyPop, I hope that things get easier for you too! That sounds like a scary situation to be in. Could you talk to someone about those experiences? Like a therapist or counselor?

Its Np ..up to you. Not sure how i feel today.. hmm.. i guess numb is an okay word maybe.. not bad like lately but not good either cause lord of,anxiety. & depression boiling under the surface. Shrug..
Everytime I'm dissoziated I start to get really bad at distances. I always become unsure of how far on the side of the road I'm driving and I keep bumping into doorways and stuff. It's as if I forget the size of my body/the car. The last time I had an appointment with my GP I bumped into her door... awkward moment.
Did anyone here make similar experiences?
You survived the abuse.
You're gonna survive the recovery.
To be honest, I can't say I've had anything quite that bad, but I can sort of understand what you mean. I think. I think the thing with dissociating is that it feels like you are sort of leaving your body for a little while, and then when you come back everything is all wonky. That's how it is for me, anyway.
I know of another forum that's open to DID too; Self Help Place (The creator asked me to share it with people, so I promise I won't edit the link at all this time!)

I looked at the link above you put & I'm not even sure why but it makes me nervous..like unsafe nervous
. & honestly I'm not even sure why it makes me feel that way..maybe just me & stupid anxiety
God I'm struggling with Tracey, I know she only wants to play but I am not a mummy, I am not stable. ;(
Sophie-Mercy: Integrated/ getting used to each other. Host
Tracy: I don't really know her, but she's 6 and 3/4s.
Ava, counts to ten or three depending on how badly she is doing. Young
Erin: In charge, Erin doesn't feel anything, she just is. Always.
@Rawiyah: I'm OK thanks, kind of. I had another OD and A&E trip, but now I have home treatment, and I'm re-stabilising. I've started taking my meds again and they're helping... I just hate the appetite that comes with them. But I think this time I'm going to stay on them because they help a ton, and well, look what happenned when I didn't. I lost. And I really really am incredibly adverse to hospital. xx
@hidingme: It's totally understandable. I don't use the site very often, and it's a little slow so many not as safe as it could be.
@DollyPop: My meds are appetite stimulants too. I like to think that if they are helping, then it's okay. I hope that the home treatment is being helpful for you as well. Are they going to keep you monitored for a while?

So sorry! Missed your post at first,
I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling. I don't know you very well, nor do I know Tracey very well but could Tracey play on her own for a while when she comes out?
Try getting things to occupy Tracey when shes out..toys,coloring books,cartoons..
Sarah, our 3-4 yo, likes to chat with other littlest online & watch cartoons. Most of all.. oh & eat & sleep :)
Also creating special areas inside will help so she isnt bugging. You so much..
Like we have fairies lake where little fairies play, sing & dance. We also have bubble meadow where these huge bubbles. Float & the kids can ride inside them as they float or jump from one to another.:)
@RAwiyah Yeah I'm trying to justify it. I've got a 'Recovery Sticker Chart" and it's really helping, and I've realised I'm not gaining weight if I exercise and monitor my calories. It just makes it impossible to restrict - but after a while I might not even want to restrict so there you go.
The HTT are being OK now. I'm being reviewed on Monday, so likely discharged because I'm doing quite well. And I see my GP on Tuesday again, so I have a lot of Drs keeping tabs on me. xx
@hidingme; I usually buy a lot of toys at the dollar store for that reason!
Our Catherine (who is anywhere from 5-7 years) likes to play with toy trains and color on coloring sheets. And I think putting together puzzles, or playing with dough is a nice way to keep me from dissociating most of the time...
@DollyPop; Well that sounds like it'll be really helpful for you. And the Recovery Sticker Chart sounds like a good idea! Do you mind if I ask what it is?
my sticker chart is just a normal A4 note book, and in it I have 5 collumns and 8 rows. The collumns are, weight, calories, exercise, meds, appointments.
Then the rows are the 7 days of the week, and one summary of average weight, calories etc etc. I get a sticker when I exercise and a sticker when I take my meds. I think it's helping me to keep on track with meds and my new exercise orientated plan to help deal with my meds.
Do you think I should talk to my GP about dissociation? I mentioned it brielfy on Thursday. I see a therapist every week and not sure who to talk to :/ i do feel so alone
Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls.
Hey Everyone. It's been a while since we've been on here, but thought we'd pop by and say hi. Hope you're all doing ok

@DollyPop: That sounds like a really good idea! I'm glad to hear that it's helping you too!

I think it wouldn't hurt, but it might be easier if you spoke to your therapist first. Maybe you and your therapist can come up with how to bring it up to your GP?
