"They say time heals all wounds. I don't agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessons, but it is never gone." - Rose Kennedy
There’s still a little bit of your taste in my mouth
There’s still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
It’s still a little hard to say what's going on
I look in the mirror, and who do I see?
Tis not my reflection gazing back at me.
Tis the face of something so strong,
A face that cannot do any wrong.
This face is vaugly familiar it seems ,
A face I have seen before only in dreams.
Whispers, whispers in the night,
Convinced me my only delight,
Was to be gained through only one way,
The pain would be feirce if I didn't obey.
The pain would be inflicted not onto me,
But onto those I loved, those held dearly.
I accept the notion as the only way out,
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt,
That this is the only way to stop the pain,
The only way to end the shame,
That I bestow apon all those I meet,
The endless pain, the everlasting deciete.
With a laugh my dear friend returns my relection,
Leaving me to indulge in self affection.
I examine my eyes, my lips and my hair,
Is that me in that mirror right there?
What a horrid, ghastly, ugly thing,
My friends laughter resounds, I let it ring.
The laughter pushes me to do what I must,
I no longer wallow in my own self-disgust.
I meerly do what is right,
I wave farewell to the night.
I wave farewell to all I have known,
And I find I am no longer alone.
I am drifting, drifting away from the night,
Drifting into my promised delight.
The delight that was gained through no other way,
The delight to be as long as I was not to stray.
I had obeyed so I would recieve,
A feeling too divine to percieve.
A really crappy poem I started writing on my blog, then decided to paste it into a document so's I could finish it
“Uh ... I do remember what I said. The promise. To protect her. If I had done that ... even if I didn't make it ... you wouldn't have had to jump. But I want you to know I did save you. Not when it counted, of course, but ... after that. Every night after that. I'd see it all again ... do something different. Faster or more clever, you know? Dozens of times, lots of different ways ... Every night I save you.”
