I agree on the cool pics, I really need to locate some more places to check out. I saw a burnt out place when I got lost shopping a couple of weeks ago, might be interesting to scope out. Abandoned places certainly have an atmosphere and they just lie forgotten, sometimes in the middle of a lively street, it's so strange.

Urban exploration is a great hobby to have. Gets me out of the house and you get to see some pretty interesting things. things no one else sees.
I need to sort out my kit though before I go anywhere else.
apparently standard urban exploration kit is:
Tetanus booster
steel toe capped boots.
first aid kit
torch
spare batteries (for both camera and torch)
Dust Mask- for buildings asbestos and/or pigeon droppings
safety goggles- same reason.
Safety Gloves
Wallet with ID
fully charged mobile.
Spare money.
Whistle - in case you get in trouble.
Water
cereal bars- for the long haul exploration.
and a bag to carry it in naturally

I've actually recently started to get into urbex, I have no idea of the kit nor the money to get it atm, so that list helps. There are plenty of places that I would love to go explore. In Manc there are several air raid shelters and victorian places just left untouched and built over. That aspect always intrigues me as well as the abandoned places, there are a couple of asylums in Wales I would love to look around. I mean, I often go exploring in areas but not the more 'serious' places yet.

There is one place notorious amongst urban explorer's but the entrance is pretty much kept secret so I have no idea how to get in, or what equipment or access routes you would need. I know it's underneath near the cathedral, the exact location is right next to the canal near a bridge but apparently it's pretty hard to get into, especially being so far in the centre of the city. The place looks freaking incredible though on some boards i've seen. Near granada studios, underground there is an old shipping route where they brought supplies during for the raid shelters, again, the entrance is pretty much kept quiet so would love to look in there one day. I think going underground in a group would be freaky enough, let alone by yourself haha. It's very rare to find people who actually give a damn about abandoned places though I guess. I'm fine going around ruins and houses and the like, but sewers and tunnels etc would be a whole different species. I'm sure I remember reading it took some people months to get into the cathedral shelters, that's insane.

Buildings are plenty enough for me. I've spent time underground and don't much care for it.

I've been in a couple of tunnels and the like, it's pretty awesome if you don't mind seeing endless walls lmao, but your mind definitely starts churning sometimes. Was there a lot of junkie stuff in that house you went in today? That's usually something I watch out for.

Only in one room. A bathroom. A pile of packets for hypodermics, an aerosol can and a tiny bottle of something, I didn't look too close. I just snapped a pic and left them well alone.

It is fascinating and hard work but I think that's another thing that makes it cool, keeps you active
