Well, I'll get you some textual evidence later, if you want, but consider this...
Othello only decides to go after Desdemona and Cassio after Iago feigns the conversation with Cassio. You remember the one where Iago made it seem like Cassio was talking about Desdemona when he was talking about Bianca?
Even though there were some things that happened to Othello before then, and he did some things (such as treating Desdemona cold, or accusing her, etc), the only real action that he took came after he believed that he had all the true evidence that he needed to convict her. And, while he is killing her, he is telling her that he is actually vindicating her soul by releasing her and righting her wrong. This could be seen either as motivated 1) revenge or 2) justice.
I'll look up some textual evidence, but that's some things to think about. Does that help?
