I think if it goes with the vibe of the film then I don't mind CGI, it's all about whether it fits etc etc

CGI is fine, but when they think that because their monster/whatever looks scary that they don't need to bother on a decent plot or any atmospherics, it makes for a dull horror.

Cloverfield was a good film and that plot seems to be pretty well thought out too.

Cloverfield was a good film and that plot seems to be pretty well thought out too.
I've heard rumours of a sequel. Told from the point of view of someone on the inside, so we'll get answers as to what this monster is and where it came from and why the bites make people explode.
It can be done, a lot of soldiers carry small cameras on them these day's to film combat and such.

Yeah I heard of that too, apparently they will pass the guys of the old film at one point, so you kinda see both of them in the same shot, that would be pretty funny. The plot seems pretty complex from what I read somewhere, apparently a drinks company is integral to the whole plot, something to do with some ingredient they put in their drinks which 'could' have caused the monster :S That would go against the whole 'it fell from the sky' argument.
