Aw I'm sorry to hear that, why did you have to leave? One of the other employees at my work threatened to fire me, but seeing as it didn't come from my boss I'm not really bothered. I'm okay thanks, how're you?

Oh I see. That's not very good practice on their behalf.

I dunno :/ she said that I was leaving all the cages really messy (I work at a vets) and that it had been going on for a few weekends and that if I didn't start doing the job better then they can find someone else to do it.

A) if that was the case, why didn't they call me up and tell me before?
B) why was an employee telling me but not my boss?
and C) I really doubt they'd find anyone else to stick at that job for as long asI have and who wants to get their hands messy.

Aw I'm sorry to hear that ): could you start putting out CV's or looking for jobs in the local newspaper?

ilovecats - you didn't post on the wrong thread, this thread is just really quiet and not that busy - please don't be afraid to post here if you want to talk, or you can PM me

Caffe - We know how that feels, the host has been diagnosed with depression and she's trying to get herself out of a depressive mode now - exercise has been helping a lot

I try to go to the gym three times a week. I'm not sure if it helps or not.

How is everyone today?

i need to join a gym i'm just frightened about it, that i'll never be well enough to physically use anything in there and i will have to be there in a t-shirt... my scars... :s THen I wonder whether i'll ever go cos i'm always so tired... although i know its meant to be good for depression...

Hello all!

I agree, exercise is fantastic. It does wonders for my mood.

ems: you can wear a long-sleeve top if you prefer, and just start out slow and steady. As you build your fitness you will be able to do more. You should be given an induction at first anyway where they will talk with you about what you want and how to exercise safetly etc. I understand that it's hard to motivate yourself, but I always find that even if I couldn't be bothered to go beforehand, I am always really glad afterwards that I did!

I love to swim, mountain bike, and join a sports club on a Wednesday night where we do team games. It's great having the social aspect of it, it really helps me unwind and forget about work for a while.

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: 'This glass is half full'. And then there are those who say: 'This glass is half empty'.
The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: 'What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Terry Pratchett

Yes, exercise really helps, plus it stops some of the others and kathryn from cutting because she wears a t-shirt when she runs.

On the downside... might have to get another job. Times are tough at home and the family need Kathryn to pitch in - even though she's already working at the vets and is at college. Still, needs must, so we might start doing night shifts at Sainsburys. No rest for the wicked eh...

Mmm we know how you feel - there's a ridiculous amount going on.

Anxiety's kinda bad, Kathryn's stressing about college loads - the coursework, getting into the second year, her tutor visiting her on work placement tomorrow. I'm having a hard time calming her.

Exercise can really help. Especially since it's part of a routine that can also include regular sleeping patterns and some form of consistant diet. I'd encourage anybody to get into that kind of lifestyle. Since I haven't had another manic period for a while my diagnosis is currently clinical depression. I find when I'm dieting, working out and getting some kind of regular sleeping pattern it can help my mood. I'll be honest and say I'm really not doing too well right now. I hope you're all doing ok though.

Everything passes, everything changes. Just do what you think you should do.

I thought my depression was getting better but it seems that I was just having some good days. As much as I think I am nothing without my mental health problems i'd still like to get some relief from them.
