Berni, you poor thing! I read that a lot of women get the runs shortly before labour, you're body clearing itself out, so hopefully it won't be long.

I'm getting a birthing ball tomorrow And some tuna and salad, cos it's all I fancy eating at the moment and we've had no money to buy any food.

tbh, i'd save your money.
Those things never work. The baby will come when s/he is ready.

*huge hugs* It sucks when doctors and nurses etc won't listen... I really hope the contractions get regular soon and you can just get the baby out! I bet though, that once you're cuddling bubs, all this will soon fade from memory!

Berni, whatever you do, don't have an unassisted birth.

I think it'd be worth getting to the GP soon, or going straight to the hospital and demanding to be seen.

They do.
Or at least where i am.
My sister phoned the maternity unit twice for me, once when i was having serve headaches, getting blurry vision and was overly tired.
and when i was in labour. I never even spoke to the midwife before i went in, on either occasion.

I'm sorry things aren't going any where with the contractions Benri, but maybe a trip to the doctors would be a good idea and just say, that you want a home birth, but you just want to be checked over and to know whats happening because the midwives keep fobbing you off. If there's no reason for you to be in hospital, they can't make you go. But it may at least help you know what's going on.

Can Chris mum not see if she can work the Ten's machine, i'm sure they aren't that hard to use. Why wont Chris show you how to use it?

Berni, it's fine having a home birth, but an unassisted birth means no midwife and that is not a safe way to give birth. I can totally see you're not a fan of hospitals, but they are there to help you when you're in labour, being exhausted is not a good thing, it doesn't benefit you or bubs.

maybe varies then charcoal because every time my mum phoned the ward for me, they told her they needed to speak to me. she was like er, well shes mid contraction and tried to ask a couple of questions and they were just like thats fine, we will wait we need to speak to her directly. which was a pain in the butt because when your in labour you really dont want to be chatting on the phone.

Berni is there any chance you could take liquid paracetomol? Would that still make you gag? You hang in there, bubs will be with you before you know it. And you're right, take advantage of the sleep you can get now. I know it's not comfortable sleep, but at least it's sleep. When bubs arrives chances are you'll have such broken sleep it won't feel comfortable anyway. I know that's true for me. I've got used to lack of sleep now, but those first few months were gruelling.

I'd swoop over you
