I'm reading The Killer Book of Serial Killers in between Stolen Life by Jodi Picoult and one of my Stephen Kings. I don't remember which; I'm too tired.
Stolen Life? I don't think Ive read that, I thought Id read all of hers. Im reading Pretty Twisted by Gina Blaxill now.
Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world awaits in darkness for the light that is you.
Just finished Perfect Picture By Jodi Picoult - first Jodi Picoult book, not too impressed
Now half way through Send By Patty Blount, enjoying this, reading it and remembering that it is aimed at younger readers. Bullying in this era. No longer as obvious as it once was. The era of cyber bullying.
Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Again. This is probably my tenth time, but it's one of those really good books where when you finish it, you close it, let it sink in for a few minutes...then turn it over and start again from the start!
The frame story is OK, but once you get into the real meat of the book, it's wonderful. I particularly like that at no point do they have some convenient skill just develop (eg. hero picks up a sword for the first time, hero becomes SUPER MEGA BADASS swordsman). In fact, the book is mainly about how the protagonist becomes a badass...and the author is willing to let him suffer at times in the process!
Really well developed world, great character development, fun characters overall!
