In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

Epidemic = rampant in one particular country/region
Pandemic = rampant all over the world

Worrying and panicking will only make things worse, people need to relax a bit.

HYSTERIA!!!!!!!!!

I'm actually avoiding people I don't normally have contact with. If it really is originating from Mexico, and where I live is 80% Mexican, I know I'm at a greater risk than probably most others on this site, simply due to the fact I come in contact with new immigrants/people who have visited family recently/visiting family from Mexico more frequently than probably most others on this site.

If I didn't live in an agricultural hub of the world I'd be less concerned as this area appeals to immigrants because of the jobs offered (or jobs that were offered before the water restrictions and loss of farmland/crops this season). It's a time like this I wish I lived somewhere isolated. I hate getting sick.

This really scares me. I catch public transport everyday and people sneezing and coughing everywhere is going to scare me even more now. Damn OCD.
Not sure if there are any confirmed cases here yet, but I know some have been tested for it.

This actually terrifies me.....

Partly due to the OCD, partly due to the fear of dying, and partly due to the amount of worrying I do about EVERYTHING!

Your the kind of person I was thinking of when I posted this (and I updated first post with "social distancing" advice). I thought CDC was wrong to only advise hand washing and not to advise social distancing (not going to crowded areas etc) in flu areas the way other countries did. The southern borders should have been closed instead of risking people but I suppose that's a political debate I wont go into here.

In any case, I never meant to see this thread keep going with other thread in News tracking things so if a forum fairy wants to lock this that's fine

It's starting to worry me actually. I already have a mild form of agoraphobia and a phobia of getting sick, now I dont want to go outside at all :(

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

I haven't really considered this thing as being that HUGE.

I haven't seen the news in the last 18 hours, but from the sounds of it people seem to be making a big fuss over the internet, but there is no mention of it in 'real life'

I just think it's a case of the media blowing things out of proportion as they often do and in turn making people susceptible to worrying, do so and panic unnecessarily.

The fact that it's being made a fuss of online isn't helping either.
People shouldn't go out any less or anything like that, if it gets to that we will be told not to leave the house etc.

We discussed this in class.

The discussion was about how the media hyped this up so much.

We're at a higher risk for loads of worse illnesses

Thank you for all of your help and support. I will no longer be coming to RYL. Semi-explanation will be inside my profile.
