I don't, becuase I don't really have one.
But I'd say I'm agnostic if anything, I'm open to the idea that theres something out there, it makes me feel a little...safer? but I don't follow religion, and I think that if it gives someone faith and blah blah then so be it, let them have thier religion.

Though I admit I'm a little sceptical (sp?), I really dislike the parts of religion that controls the way a person can live their life in ways that just don't seem nessecary, I always have this feeling that maybe religion is just a form of social control. And I really dislike social control.

I'm not going to have a go at anyone for their beliefs though, just like I hope no one would have a go at me for the books I read, the music I listen to, the clothes I wear, etc, etc.
The only time I would question someones beliefs is if they appeared very fake/ fad about the whole thing...even then I'd be reluctant.

And oh look, I've rambled, joy.

well I don't preach about my religion. the subject of religion doesn't come up much so I can know someone for a long time without them ever actually finding out what my faith is.
but yes, I have received some flak in the past. mostly from those religious nuts who hold signs saying things like JESUS SAVES and other such stuff. Once one of them noticed my pentagram and started an argument, mostly revolving about how I was worshipping the devil and going to yell.
Long story short; I won. There's something very satisfying about leaving a preacher speechless.

Same, I can argue just about any point that I want if I give it enough thought. =D

Anyways, my school is very intolerant & even though it's meant to be a normal comprehensive/6th form, it still enforces and recites Christian beliefs, makes us go to a church and sing hymns on occasion, and is overall Christian based with no provisions for Hindus, Atheists and such that attend my school. Thus I never sing and barely stand when asked, sit prematurely and discussed the contradictory symbols within the church with the person sat beside me. I tend to dislike been made to do & believe things - on the same level I hate been preached to. Fun fun.

I don't have a religion, but I have a lot of respect for people who do follow a faith. That's their choice and who am I to judge them. That said, at least be able to justify what you believe and be able to have some sort of religious discussion.

But why should you have to be able to have a religious discussion?I get this all the time, maybe I dont want to discuss my religion....if im not forcing it on you,why do I have to divulge what i believe in and why?Im not having a go at you by the way, its just I dont understand why I should have to justify what I believe in...I dont ask people to justify being athiest or whatever.

I hate people on the street, especially certain places in london, shouting at passers by and preaching to you.
Now that f*cks me off.
Exactly how i feel.
& those people who preach on the streets actually get me really angry.
In Manchester it's fine, because normally someone will shout "oh f*ck off you t*at" or something along those lines to them before i get there so they've usually gone quiet.
But in Cardiff there's this one guy. Always there. & if he screams at me again about how not worshipping Jesus & God is sinful i think i might actually have to scream back.

For me, being able to talk about what you believe in and why shows than you have actually thought about it and aren't just following what your parents told you when you were younger. Obviously not everyone wants a discussion, but I think being able to discuss and probably educate the other person can only be a good thing.

I often talk about Catholicism to my friend and ask him questions. Even if he can't answer them it gives him food for thought and educates him too. It can strengthen your religious resolve.

I don't say that what they believe is wrong, I just want to understand why they believe that instead of believing something else.

I went to a catholic primary school and me being inquistive would ask a lot of questions and question all the things that to me didn't make sense and for that I would get told off and not allowed out at break so I just shut up in the end.

My grandma is very religious and I told her I don't believe in god so to speak but I do believe there is some higher power just something I can't understand and then we ended up arguing about it because she was like prove to me that he doesn't exist so I said prove to me that he does which obviously pissed her off and she started going on about how she just 'knows' fair enough she has faith but it annoys me that she thinks I have to aswell just because she does. Then again she also thinks I'm going to hell haha I believe in reincarnation.

I was born Catholic which is the religion of the majority here in the South so there'd never be anyone to take the piss out of you for that.
I don't follow a religion now and never was given any hassle over it. I'm not made to pray or anything in school and never was (went to Catholic schools for all my "educational career"). The closest it'd come is one of the lads making a little joke about it but it's not something I mind and it's in good fun.

I'm not religious but I don't give people stick for what they believe in.
The only time I have a problem at it is when it's being shoved in my face.
People can believe in whatever they want to believe in as long as they're willing to accept my non belief.

I don't have a religion. I guess I'm more agnostic than anything else...which has caused some 'disruption' before as someone decided that being agnostic is a "cop out" and only cowards don't take sides *yawn* I'd just say I'm open minded

I am, however, totally fasinated by religion. I generally see it as Mythology, which has also caused me some bother even though I don't mean any offence by it. Whatever.

I was born and raised Catholic, went to a strict Catholic school and so on. What I really dispised in that school was the lack of opinion. It was either their way or no way. You couldn't, for example, debate abortion or euthanasia because you basically weren't allowed to have an opinion other than "it is wrong" I cannot abide people enforcing their beliefs on everyone. I really can't stand people who will not even entertain the idea that they could be wrong...ok maybe not 'wrong'; but at least not the only ones that are right. does that make sense?

Eh...I digress. Religion is mostly a personal choice that should be respected. I don't think that anyone should be given stick for their faith. At the end of the day faith is basically the same regardless of religion. And the individual beliefs/rules/guidelines that come with whatever religion should also be respected, within reason, by everyone.

haha I made the big mistake of questioning a teacher once...I suggested that it wasn't very Christian spirited to have killed the Protestants. He threw a book at me

Absolutely. I quite often start conversations about religion, and get told off for it - when I'm not saying that anything is wrong, I just want to know more. I find religion fascinating, and I have so many questions that I'd like to know more about ...

And yes, I agree with you Claire.

I get pissed off when atheists moan christians shove religion down their throats, but a lot of atheists try to shove their non religion down other people's throats.

I respect people who are religious and non religious. I just hate it if they start preaching about how their way is right.

I'm a christian. I've not really had any flack for it.

At school my best friend was wiccan and I used to love having debates with him. I still respected his religion and never told him he was wrong.

And here's the other side of the coin - I am a practicing Christian, and I get an *incredible* amount of crap for it. I certainly don't preach, evangalise, prosleytise or even mention it unless someone asks. I have recieved flack for my religion from some of my closest friends and partners, many of whom are athiests, that borders on verbal abuse and is certainly an insult.
