This is awful!!! Please complain! I've had similar things happen at a&e in the past but never had the courage to make a complaint.
Something really needs to be done about all this bad treatment of self harmers by medical staff. What she said to you could have caused you to go away and sh worse or even trigger someone to commit suicide.
It's completely unforgiveable!

This is disgraceful hun! You have to complain. I have had negative reactions from staff before but never been completely refused treatment. What she did was completely wrong. I hope you are feeling a bit better now *hugs*

I agree here, make a written complaint, make sure you header the address as formal complaint tho, legally they have to act on any formal complaints recieved.
whilst it is absolutely shocking it is sadly very common across the NHS.
I am glad you have a GP that is friendly and willing to help you, a lot of people are less fortunate.
Please let us know how you get on and take care

As the others have said really please go ahead and make a complaint and get yourself listened to.This was disgusting.i have heard many experiences of people with self harm and/or suicide issues being treated badly by medical staff and have had a few of my own.It is never justified or right no matter at what level it happens or to what extent even minimal but your case is so extreme it could have placed you [and did really] at great risk.
im so sorry that you went through that and i really do hope you can summon up the courage to make a complaint.
You deserved so much better.
Also I hope that you are doing at least a bit better emotionally from when you did this injury to yourself too.i sense you are in a lot of emotional pain and turmoil and if you ever want a friend or need to talk anytime feel free to PM me.
Good luck and be brave.Take care.
