yeah, I really do. Not right now, but some day. I know that I'll have to sort my life out first, and find a man that'll have me!

And my biological clock is ticking away.
And no partner/hope of relationship in near future.
If anything, I'd adopt. But being a psychotherapist, who also works with children, would be one way of doing what I want and need to do, without going through the depth of responsibility and commitment and single mindedness family wise a child would need from it's mother.
I'm seeing close up what it's like to parent a very young child, flat sharing with a married couple who have a now 2 year old son is teaching me that. I step in and contain things when things get rough at times. I'm good at intervening with that level of observation and detachment and insight... But if it was my own..... it would be different.
I can't imagian my life with out kids it would break me not to be able to have them

Ideally, I'd love it all - a nice bloke to marry, a good career and 2/3 children to bring up in our home with a back garden and caravan at the front. With a joint bank account and everything.
I'm just not sure it'll end up that way.
But I do know that I want a child. More than ANYTHING I want a child. To feel it grow inside, and watch it grow up.
My biggest fear is that it'll be as messed up as I am. NOT something I'd want to see. =/
If I had kids, I would be scared everyday that they would develop depression, or start self harming. I'd dread the day they asked where my scars were from.

Yes, definitely. I'm fairly sure I don't want to give birth though... I was planning to adopt kids, but recently I've started to reconsider that (I guess my reproductive instincts are finally kicking in or something).
I've never had a boyfriend though, and I'm absolutely terrified of having sex, so I'm not counting getting married, but even if I don't get married, I fully intend to adopt a kid even as a single parent (presumably not a newborn, since those are in high demand and adoption agencies can be far pickier, but I'd rather adopt an older kid anyway, since older kids often just stay in foster care until they're 18, and I plan on having the psychology background to handle it).
But yeah, not for a long time still though, and definitely not till I'm a lot more stable than I am now.

I've been told that i would be a good father by a couple of people *regrets saying that as they mey read this and comment further*, but then just no. I don't see why i should pass on my genes when i'm such a mess-up, why should anyone else have to suffer like that? And, i completely disagree with the people who said that about me. (Y)

Not really. I don't dislike kids, but I'm so awkward around them. I don't know what to do, or what I can do that isn't inappropriate for their age. I just feel weird. I especially hate holding people's babies, cause they're so little and I don't want to accidently hurt them. Maybe it would be different if I had my own, but the thought of childbirth is nauseating, and I don't think I can find a guy to stick with that I wouldn't get irritated with within a few years.
Maybe I'd adopt though. But, like ten or so years from now when I get bored with my youth, haha.
I love children but I don't want to screw them up like I do everyone else. Maybe when I'm grown up and more stable and stuff. Maybe not. Although I do find pregnancy and birth one of the most beautiful and amazing things in the world. Makes everything seem to have a purpose... like, it's mindboggling, how everything works... so maybe it would be nice...
