doubt it would help, I grew a beard. added at least five years to me. People used to look at me in surprise when i said i was 21/22

they would... my brother looks way older than he is with his moustache... he's 18...
oh, and gals in general can't grow beards as J said...
but yeah... for gals? tie you're hair back in a single pony tail and wear light make up of boring colours and a nice suit. it works. I'm 15. I'm always asked for ID on trains coz the adult age is 16 and on my 15th bday i got mistook for an 18 year old.
I'm 15 and people refuse to believe that I'm that young.
They don't let me get a child ticket on the bloody bus !
THAT'S 70p I'M LOSING OUT ON.
Anyway, wear lots of eye make up and don't tuck your hair behind your ears, if you want to look older.
That's all I can think of.

If you look older, or younger, than you are then carry you passport on you, or some other form of ID with your picture and birthdate. that way you can prove yourself right whenever the situation comes up.

Actually, you can't... you gotta be 21 here to buy alcohol... I mean, I can with my ID still, it's sooo irritating though. And last week when I went out drinking with one of my friends, the waitress gave me a hard time cuz she thought I only looked 16 and kept insisting my ID was fake!

i kinda know how that feels... but not exactly, i'm sure.
i'm almost 16 and people ask me if i'm 12.
i'm short and acne never really caught up with me.
i just pretty much embrace it. =]
I'm 21, but people usually guess I'm around 15. The worst was when I volunteered in a middle school for the last few weeks of the term, and multiple people thought I was a student there. So I totally get where you're coming from with this
The things my sister always bugs me about:
-pluck your eyebrows
-wear make-up
-wear solid-color tops with details in the cut, rather than printed t-shirts or such
-wear sophisticated shoes, especially heels
-wear earrings (but not childish ones obviously)
-consider dying your hair a good color (what color totally depends on what looks good on you - there's not one color that makes everyone look older, but it doesn't have to be a natural color - my hair is blue and black at the moment, and it actually helps a lot)
Short of that, um, hire my sister as an image consultant? After taking her advice, I went out to dinner with my parents, and people actually guessed that I'd finished high school!!! So maybe still not 21, but it's a huge improvement over thinking I'm just starting high school. And keeping in mind that my sister is 3 1/2 years younger than I am, I have to say she's pretty good at this.

I found I was IDed less when I went from blonde to black, and also when I started wearing glasses.
Also, while everyone's saying "wear make up, look sophisticated", also don't put in too much effort. The amount of 16 year olds in tiny skirts and heels, caked in make up and so on tend to look younger. I dunno, it's kind of a contradiction.
Wake me up before I change again
Remind me the story that I won't get insane
Tell me why it's always the same
Explain me the reason why I'm so much in pain.
that depends. If the girl has not enough estrogen and too much tesosterone then they will grow too much hair and end up with a beard or moustache. HOWEVER this is extremely rare and most women and girls has so small amounts of Testosterone that there is nothing to worry about. so girls... Don't worry about looking like a guy... SO THERE J!!!!!!!!!!! I'm smart!!!!!!!! (or as I said earlier Clart, or smrat as I told someone they were over msn...) lol

That's what i was hinting towards, you should be worried that you know what i was on about ;]
I wish i looked older, i look about 13 and i'm 19. Although aslong as i remember my ID it's not too bad. Apart from when i say my boyfriends 26 and people look at him as if he's some peado or something :\

i was in a restaurant with my mum..must have been a couple of years back cos i seem to remember being 19, and the place we usually sat was full so we asked if we could sit in the bar and eat there. and the guy said 'im afraid children arent allowed in the bar' :-o
