Basically, the production team need a break after 4 years of working non-stop, and the three higher-ups for the show are leaving. Thus they're taking a bit of a break that year with only three specials, and Tennant took advantage of that to play Hamet (something that I really really really wish I could see *pout*).
*Sigh* I wish I lived in England so I could actually see these episodes on a tv before the dvds come out here in the States.
o no!! they cant have none next year! it keeps me going! it the best thing on TV! o! thats so sad!
i CANNOT wait till next week i love rose! and its good to see Donna and her seem to be getting on! i would not like them to have conflict! cos that is just too "un"doctor who like!
TBH, if it is Davros returning, then I don't mind the daleks. Rose returning will easily overshadow _ _ _ _ _ and hopefully _ _ _ _ _ will be killed off by the daleks, hopefully.
But if he's anything like the new versions of the daleks, cybermen and the master I will be bitterly disappointed.

The old ones just looked silly!
The only think I don't like about them are the lame sound effects "*Peow peow* Delete *Peow peow*"

It was David Tennant wanting to play shakespeare first, rather than production team, but he didn't really want to leave the Dr Who role, and then production team were, like, he's the best dr and we're tired, so they decided to have a year break.....otherwise it would have been a brand new doctor.

I thought there was only one or two more regenerations left for the Doctor? So if David Tennant was to leave and they bring in a new Doc then they're severely limiting themselves for the future. Leaving DT as the Doc for now and having a break also means they can string out the programme for longer.

they'll get around that. the master ran out agesss ago yet i still think he's gonna come back somehow. he robs bodies, somehow.
will be interesting if they follow the continuity of the movie, where the doctor became half human and he gained an extra regeneration which would be totally human.

we're falling apart, together.
why can't i feel anything for anyone other than you?

Hmm, I've heard it the other way around repeatedly, that the production team went first and that he took advantage of it.
Different sources saying different things, I suppose?
