That's what I've been hearing all day Katy... I couldn't care less about football but our town centre was left in a serious mess. Several men were arrested for assaulting police people or something like that. They're possibly not going to be screening Man Utd's match because of it. Council whatsits have banned the big screen...stupidness...

I know I am not intrested in it but more the fact that it made two days hell
loads of people got sent home from work early the noise was that bad
manchester was a tip which messed with busses and actually trying to walk through town. Yeah they have banned the big screens because of the trouble they cause which is such a shame

Oh God, why have we got to have two Brit teams playing a decider abroad? I do hope I'm wrong but here we have the potential for yet more shame to be heaped upon UK as the result of brainless yobs (who shouldn't be allowed passports) misbehaving.

I have nothing against football (except some of the behaviour exhibited on the field) but I have everything against a proportion of those on the terraces who are unable to behave ...

A friend of mine was there, he said the streets were utterly mobbed but he didn't encounter any violence, absolutely NOTHING like the papers are reporting.
To be honest, a game of this size that attracted that many poeple is going to cause trouble, no matter what teams were playing, it just so happened ot be Rangers and Zenit.
And also, I'm pretty sure that 90% of the poeple that went down there were just looking for a good time, it's that 10% of hardcore idiots that ruin it and cause riots.
But the police should've been prepared, well more than they were, and ofcourse people shouldn't have behaved in the way they did. Well some of them. There were a lot of families and such down there as well remember.
And I'm not making excuses, just trying to level the playing field a bit.
