Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.
I've been a Supporter for well over a year.. maybe a year and a half? When I joined the team I was rather pessimistic [I feel that I can identify with you, 3 inches from the edge], but I loved to help people - it gave me a purpose when I had nothing else to live for. Recently I've taken a hiatus to straighten out some complications in my life, but even during my absence I know I'm still part of the team.
It's such a wonderful atmosphere - working alongside other people who sacrifice theirselves for others' benefit. And.. when you know you've made a difference, that's one of the greatest feelings I've ever experienced.
If this is something you'd like to do, I strongly urge you to apply. There will be times when you feel inadequate, but if you're chosen it's for a very good reason, and the doubts you have in yourself are nothing more than doubts.
And honestly, at times it may be stressful, and if you're dealing with a lot in your life right now.. it can go either way. Supporting can be a distraction/coping method, or it can be additional pressure. But still - if this is something you want to do, Miss Belle's inbox is always open, and we would love to have you on our team, even if you don't feel like you're deserving.
You're more than you think you are. You can make a difference, and while doing so, there's a great chance that you can also improve who you are.
Just a few thoughts.. sorry for rambling.
There was this girl last night who couldn't cope and felt really bad i tried my best to help here and stayed with her * i'm not boasting* anyways i begged her to mail me next morning cause she felt suicidal and wanted to end her life ,well ,she didn't mail me and that made me panic ,
I care too much and i think that is a weakness in me ...cause i don't know if people are safe or not .And cause they are oceans away and you can't make sure you helped them or not
And this scares me.

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
When we lose twenty pounds... we may be losing the twenty best pounds we have! We may be losing the pounds that contain our genius, our humanity, our love and honesty. ~Woody Allen

Has she contacted you yet? Hun, there are lots of reasons why she didn't mail you that morning. She could've felt embarassed, like she was burdening you, etc. I'm fairly sure that the majority of the members on this site can identify with that feeling.
Sadly, that's one of the most critical dangers of supporting. Objectivity is key - it's important to remember that what you're discussing isn't happening to you, but to someone else. And.. not everyone can be helped. But there are so many people that are helped, and that's what makes the stress/concern/blahblah worth it.
You seem to have the heart for it, and if you think you have the mental stamina, I would definitely give you two thumbs-up for joining the team. I know how frightening it can be...
After receiving countless private messages over the past week or so, I've decided to stop taking any more nominations. If you haven't managed to get a message to me in time then there will be another opportunity in a couple of months time when the new supporters have settled in and, once again, the team accept nominations here and there from members who have made a particularly big impression in the manner they provide support via the forum (and eventually, chat!).
For those who have nominated themselves for a position on the support team, you should have had replies from me by now - if not, I don't know what the hell happened to your message! I will be taking the nominations to the rest of the team sometime over the next couple of days where it will be discussed and you should know, roughly, within a week whether you have successfully achieved a position or not.
Thank you to everyone that applied - it's been good hearing from you! :)
