ok.....saw the surgeon today.
Kelly is having surgery on friday to remove the infected and dead tissue.
im having a breakdown and feel so god damn guilty.
im trying so hard to keep it together.
ive never been out of the house so much...and the stress is overwhelming.

please keep my Kelly in your thoughts....im scared to death for her.
but then again...im always scared about something.

My sister had cellulitis a couple of years ago and it was nasty. It was also about the size of a baseball mitt. She had some antibiotics and some surgery to debride the wound. It healed quite well after that - her impressive scar has faded a lot too.

It took a while, but she was fine after that. She has had a couple of episodes of it since then, but that has been because she rubs her legs until they are raw (unlike me who cuts!), and it has sparked off the cellulitis.
But it has never been as bad as it was the first time.

She'll be fine.

kelly i am sure you will feel SO MUCH BETTER after this surgery!

rach it seems scary but this surgery is a really good thing and i think it will all get better from here. i know you are really afraid right now and have had to face a lot of your fears, going out to so many appts and living with this extra stress, but please take a moment to realise how well you are doing! you have gone to every single one of these appts and made it and survived and you are still here and still strong! maybe you have more in you than you thought!

thank you all so much for supporting my Kelly.
she had her surgery today and we are home now.
she's going to have to follow up with a "wound care" place.
the surgeon says the necrosis went pretty deep...but he got it all.
the wound is packed and is bandaged....but not stitched....so we have to be really careful not to bump it or anything because it doesnt need to break loose.
anyhow....thats how things are right now.
