That's true. I think I always take for granted the fact that I expect people take all types of media for what they're worth and realize that nothing that we read, see, and hear is objective. But i think that especially in the case of the youth, the media in this election will factor into people voting. Youth vote is tragically low, and the youth vote is very unpredictable, so it'll be interesting to see if the candidates' attempts to reach the youth through new forms are heeded.
*pardon the tangent*
on a totaly different and hopefully not too distracting tangent, hermy9-do you play rugby? and are you from the US?

I can't get over how close a lot of the results have been in both parties. Looks like this is going to drag on for a a good deal longer than tonight. I was kind of hoping that we would know who the solid front runner for both Dems and GOP were after Super Tuesday...hey, maybe will still will know after more exact results are in tomorrow. Here's hoping!

Note to tangent: yes I do play rugby for my college. And yep, born and raised in New York State. My dad played in college and I got into my freshmen year.

Clinton is pulling away from Obama a bit in number of delegates, just so you know. The Democratic race is not as close as it was earlier tonight. But yeah, we still won't know for sure anytime soon.

I know Clintons ahead... by a little over a hundred delegates, and she's almost 1500 away from winning still, so I kinda think it's still up in the air...

Yes I know, I was just noting the trend, that Clinton seems to be gaining delegates a bit faster than Obama now. Wishful thinking lol.

idk, she's been ahead by a little since the primaries started, mainly cause she had more superdelegates... either way though, I think it's funny how much I care now even though I actually had a hard time deciding who to vote for...

Yeah me too. And I think it's funny that I support Clinton so much now and therefore oppose Obama, but if Obama gets the nomination, I will easily be able to shift my support over to him.

Hmph. If Clinton wins the Democratic race, GO McCAIN!
See and people laugh at me because i'm into American politics and I actually can't vote..not because I'm not old enough but because I'm not a US citizen and am from UK.

How late are they? Are they clinging on to some hope that if they still vote for them he might come back?
The primaries aren't over yet, so there's not a definite winner on either side, although for the Republicans, McCain is ahead by enough that he's almost sure to win. For the Democratic primaries, Clinton is ahead by a little, but she definitely hasn't won yet... so far Clinton has 783 delegates, and Obama has 709, and whoever wins will need at least 2025 delegates, so it's still close enough that either one could come out ahead.
Our primaries are somewhat silly in that we don't all vote on the same day - it's up to individual states. So a lot of states had their primaries yesterday, but there are still a bunch of states that haven't voted yet.
