Snort!! Your cat was giving you a pressie, you yelled at him, now he's going to see how well you catch the other mouse!
One of my cats brings in things, and the others help her out. One time I had spent time cleaning and vaccuming my living room, then went and started on another room. Only to go back into the living room to find light blue feathers everywhere and one the cats sitting on the floor in the middle of it, with the remains of a beak and a leg in front of her. She'd caught a budgie. Someone's pet.

I did tell her that she was going to get me in soooooo much trouble if one of our neighbours finds out that their precious bird has been eaten by my cat.
But she just looked smug at me.
Sigh!
Every so often another cat brings in a rodent for me to catch - she normally brings them in alive and lets them go in front of me.
