I know that lots of people enjoy these documentaries, but I was wondering if maybe the posts announcing every single one could be confined to a single dedicated thread in the future?
I know the forums are super slow so they're not actually pushing too many threads down but it feels like GC is mostly a board announcing 'mh' documentaries at the moment. This is also supposed to be an off topic board.
I actually really struggle with these kinds of programmes, and sometimes watch them when I'm in a bad place so I'd rather not know about them unless I seek out the information deliberately.

Anorexic- ED Documentary
There's going to be an ED documentary called Anorexic on the telly. It's on Thursday 10 pm Channel 5. The information about it is:-
Powerful and emotional documentary telling the moving stories of 3 young women with critical stage Anorexia, taking viewers to the heart of the ED crisis.
Probably triggering so take care if you're going to watch it.

Sorry but if you know it’s ‘probably’ triggering then why are you posting it?
I’m struggling to separate my personal rage at what sounds like a goddawful documentary sensationalising a very dated and frankly damaging stereotype of eating disorders (because of course you have a right to enjoy and share things that I personally consider goddawful!) from the more generalised ‘what is appropriate to post on a mental health forum’ so I am genuinely asking here rather than trying to dictate. What purpose does posting these documentaries serve? Is this the right place to be posting something that will almost certainly be back-to-back numbers, food lists and unintentional thinspo?

Yea and also there wouldn't be something so stupid as 'critical stage anorexia' if ED services in your country were better and able to help folks earlier, which... from what I have seen on here they would if they'd stop perpetuating negative setereotypes and beliefs themselves. The only reason I can see anyone on here seeking this out would be to trigger themselves. It's one thing to share generic mental health stuff. It's another to share sensationalist triggering things like it sounds like this one is.

Please do not give me virtual hugs unless you are only using the hug function on threads. Thanks.
You can't always keep it separate.
This is happening, this is part of you.

Morning Live had a whole programme covering mh. Subjects included ocd, hearing voices, depression and suicidal thoughts. It was well handled imo hence the post. Anyway should you want to watch it it's on iplayer. It's the episode dated 31/05.
