Doikers, are you ok? Have you had a disasta (disaster of the pasta type)?

We're all here for you through this difficult time. Say what's on your mind.

There's plenty more gnocci in the sea.

Steph I love your usage of [pasta related] puns, 20/10.

I am already regretting this but I feel it illustrates my thoughts and feelings on the matter of (daily) burnt toast[utter resignation aka. ':|']:

The following content has been hidden - Reason : Not everyone wants to see my apathetic face, I suppose.

I had taken another one in which my face clearly expressed significant distress(half-crying over toast), but decided against posting it because it would definitely become a meme, and I would forever be remembered as the 'crying burnt toast girl'.

Mark, don't worry: 'Gnocchi, things are gonna get easieeeerrr!'

Thanks Cat, nobody appreciates fine art theses days.

I had my first pizza express the other week with Jenna. It was rather good. I also had a nice wood fired pizza from this place in Poplar the other day.

However, dominoes still wins it all for me. Or the Chicago town stuffed crust pepperoni. Pure drooling all over this thread.

I vote for crying burnt toast girl to be a thing.

I saw this on Twitter and thought it was relevant.

Knowing me, I'd manage to burn the Domino's menu.

Fantastic use of initiative. I am enjoying pictures to illustrate the woe. Makes it all the more effective in bringing us together as a support thread. The question is, did you consume your disaster?

I had completely not considered this risk but thank you for making me aware of it. Sudden panic at the thought that every restaurant has candles in the evening. Menu toasting galore. Let's organise a meet and burn menus together.

QUESTION OF THE DAY (apologies that there is only technically 30 minutes remaining of today): Garlic?

Personally I am happy to sacrifice personal hygene and the nostils of others in order to enjoy garlic to the full, stinkiest extent. At university, my flatmate and I enjoyed garlic so much that unsuspecting victims would often struggle to stay conscious on entering the flat. Another time, on the way back from an orchestra tour, we passed around a giant bulb of smoked garlic and ate it raw. For enjoyment. With cider. JUDGE ME ALL YOU LIKE.

I await your responses and garlic stories with excitement.

^Accurate!

I like Dominoes; still have to try everything else. If we're talking about pizza places in London, I just remembered I had some pretty good Italian(might have tried the pasta too, not sure) when my dad was visiting, somewhere around Kings Cross/Euston. Could've been Prezzo, actually. My memory is failing me.

Ah, I figured if I am crying, laughing at the almost-crying photo of me as the crying burnt toast girl, then everyone else will probably laugh as well, therefore I shall post it after all.

I considered it for a brief...almost two seconds, but thought better of it. It's in the garbage bag, spending some quality time with this morning's eggshells.

Re: Question of The Day

Ah, garlic. As a child, I hated strong tastes/smells, so couldn't even go near the stuff(I still can't eat raw garlic). However, in recent years, things have improved and I actually adore garlic now. I think it improves the taste of almost everything(savoury ofc). Probably why my favourite kind of pasta is all'arrabbiata.
Also, I believe this is common knowledge, but garlic is extremely healthy.
Very important: garlic bread.
I may or may not have eaten garlic bread before on Halloween, while dressed as a vampire. I think I lost my fangs.

P.S.: Still debating whether I should attend the next London meet tbh. I agree we should meet up and see what happens when a group of chronic food-burners walks into an Italian restaurant at night.
P.P.S.: That photo there, is one of the *very rare* instances where I have been caught on camera showing any kind of emotion. A true collectible.

If I only could

GARLIC BREAD NEEDS TO BE IN MY LIFE MORE!

That is all <3

Here is a question... gluten free pasta is made from rice, so it needs a name because I am bored of calling it gluten free pasta, it is too many words. Do you thing Fasta works?

I am glad that you felt you could share this. Good sportmanship. Just know that by sharing your weakness (burning toast), you are helping somebody else to overcome the traumas of toast burnage. It happens to us all. One day there will be more understanding. You are truly helping to end the stigma.

Yes, let's avoid the garlic bonoffee pie and the garlic infused chocolate fudge cake.

Fantastic picture contribution Cara. 10/10.

I'm not entirely sure. This may mislead those of us with limited knowledge into thinking it is fast pasta. There would be nothing worse than pasta that sprints off when you attempt to impail it with your fork. I think you're underselling the gluten free pasta, and that it deserves to be fully acknowledged for its fantastic properties. QUESTION OF THE DAY GUYS: What should we call gluten free pasta?

To my embarassment, I attempted to share a story with you all today, but posted it in my RV instead. Super cool, Steph, super cool. So anyway, I've pasted it below:

I'd like to take a moment to share my most recent Italian disaster. I swept into Subway to order a long anticipated 6 inch Meatball Marinara. The lady behind the counter misheard me, and proceeded to give me a traumatising and frankly offensive alternative. SPICY ITLIAN. Luckily I caught her in the act and corrected this near disaster. I took a picture to prove that my Italian themed subway trip was a success. Somebody on the next table watched me photograph my subway, probably wondering how that **** is instagrammable but that is a social sacrifice I had to make to share this with you guys.

Picture will follow shortly.

Thank you so much for understanding. It is my aim to be a true activist in order to raise awareness and end the stigma surrounding burnt toast.

Cara, your contribution is a real gem. I agree, 10/10. Also, I need that pizza-garlic-bread-thingie in my life NOW.

Re: Question Of The Day
Cat, hmmmm, indeed Fasta sounds a bit like pasta which has been hit by one of poor Neville's disastrous charms, and is now running away from anyone who might attempt to make a meal out of it.
I'm trying to think of smart names for this, but my inspiration is clearly lacking today. No-glasta? [Tbh I this is my all time low in terms of inventing words, sorry for the uselessness.]

Steph, how does spicy Italian even sound like meatball marinara?? Also, anything is instagrammable nowadays.
*awaits picture*

Steph, I am trying to be objective about that Sub, but sadly I simply cannot get over the fact that there is rAW ONION in it(raw garlic isn't the only thing I can't eat.)
Nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed it, as it looks rich and tasty(for those able to eat such things as raw onion, ofc.)
Also, is that the herb-bread? I haven't been to Subway in too long.

Italian herb bread. I usually go for honey oat, but felt that the Italian one was fitting considering recent circumstances (Aka this thread).

Guys I need kind words and support. My flatmate just cooked toast successfully and I feel like he was rubbing it in my face that he can successfully cook toast. It's so difficult to accept who I am. I am the person who can't toast toast. Sob.

I always have Hearty Italian, it is my favourite. Does honey oat taste like honey(I'm sorry I'm asking all sorts of questions about bread; quite frankly, I LOVE ALL BREAD).

Steph, please don't let this get to you. You are not alone in this struggle. Whenever you feel like the world is bringing you down for who you are(i.e. person unable to toast toast(bread)), just remember my crying face aka. crying burnt toast girl.

Oh dear, Jodie!!

The closest I got to that was almost setting the kitchen on fire at 3 AM while attempting to make some type of stir fry(somehow, a gigantic Flame From Hell sprung to the ceiling, and scared me so much I had to sit down at the kitchen table for a solid 10 minutes). Luckily no one was injured, and the kitchen is still intact.

Also, Steph, I saw that you'd accidentally posted your subway in your RV and I did intend to message you to let you know that you might have posted in the wrong place but I think I was too busy chuckling and forgot :P

As for gluten free pasta, impasta gets my vote.
