That's a wonderful piece of writing. Like others have said it scares me how much it describes me. I don't consider myself to have an SI problem anymore but the scars haunt me and I'm constantly scanning other people for signs of scars. It's the same with my ED. The other day I asked a girl if she had bulimia (I do), because she had some subtle but worrying signs. She didn't! I told her I had a close friend with it so I knew a lot about it....
Even though I don't consider myself to SI anymore I still do it maybe once a week. It's so much better than it was though.

A very moving piece of writing there and describes very accurately the fear and pain of SH and also the fear and pain of life without it.
People are right,this should be readily available in all schools, hospitals, doctors surgeries....people should know about this.

I found that piece of writing on a facebook group for SI, and I read it several times. I've posted a video about it on youtube actually, I have a blog on there. It's just text and pictures, but it's pretty effective.

I think that it definatly should be sperad about more... Perhaps RYL could make leaflets for it? We could have another artwork competition for the leaflet design or something...

Thanks guys ; the moderators have got your message and we're discussing it now. In the meantime, though this is a great piece of writing, I'm not going to sticky it just now as there are a lot of stickies on this board and I'd love to see more room for people needing support.

I personally think it would be a good article on the main site, instead, and I am going to suggest that to one of the members working on it. I'll point her here :)

I got this from the old site as well and copied it down for myself. I have since added too it making it about 4-5 pages long now. If any one has any idea who wrote this please let me know so I can credit the person. I absolutely love this piece too!
