Indeed! I'm glad I'm not in the minority. An even mix is good by me.

I can understand the convenience point of view but I still really hate Kindles. I just worry that within the next couple of generations, books will become redundant and we'll be reading stories to our children from screens & that's a bit sad. I want my kids to know the value of actual books & although Kindles can be a bit more persuasive in getting some kids/teens to read, I still find the whole thing a bit sad - technology seems to be going a bit too far in some ways.

Ride it out.

I LOVE books

but I have come to love my kindle so much. It's so practical. Easy to carry and hold especially when you are standing, it's light, the books are cheaper, you can read IN THE DARK (I MEAN HOW FREAKING COOLL IS THAT), I get to change fonts and sizes, I have all my books with me when I go abroad, it tells me how many minutes I have left in a chapter, it's an automatic book mark.
I just love my kindle but I still have a lot of books and would always buy my favorite books too

I prefer my kindle for a lot of things but textbooks are usually better if hard copies though, saying that I do find use in e-books especially as they're easier than carrying around something A4 sized with 200+ pages!

It's much easier and more comfortable to read them in bed you can carry them around easier, you can look up words on the dictionary just by highlighting the word and what others gave found useful, though makes no difference to me, is changing the font/ size of the text. There's also the added advantage that books are available anywhere with a connection and they are often cheaper.

Personally I think it is definitely worth the investment even though I like books and find that textbooks are sometimes easier to deal with for referencing.

I've got an iPad and a kindle and found the iPad extremely useful when at a conference the other week as I could look at different items as well as making notes. For ebooks some may not work on kindle as you can't download other things like you can with a tablet (except for kindle fire but that is a tablet in its own right) and some of them aren't formatted for kindle. I think I've got 1 or 2 ebooks on my kindle but others are on my laptop/ iPad and won't convert to kindle format as far as I am aware. Also, if they have colour pictures then a kindle wouldn't be the best format for it as it is a purely black & white device though obviously that depends if images have to be colour or not.

I prefer books. Mainly because the books I read are out of publication, and therefore unlikely to appear on Kindle etc.

I do have the kindle app on my laptop, but tbh I have only read one book on it.

I was dead against kindles, so when I got one as a present I was disappointed. However, once I started using it I loved it and haven't looked back. For the usual reasons, but also because it has opened up awhile world of books I wouldn't really have access to otherwise. Book selections in shops here aren't that great so I'd have to order a lot, but now I can get them straight away.

I love books!

I do have a kindle, and due to my disabilities I must admit that it enables me to read books I physically couldn't otherwise. I'm fortunate liking classics, 99% I haven't paid for as they are free. I have also found some great historical books that are out of print but free for kindle, and also some that were free and only just published.

At the end of the day nothing can beat a book and if I wasn't physically disabled and had been given one I could have lived without it, but as a lover of books I was missing reading my regular classics that I can no longer hold.

So I don't really know what to put in your poll!

I havent really used a kindle, I know my sister likes it for her commute so she doesnt have to carry books around with her. I like the feel of books!

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.

You can, just give them your kindle! (If you trust them with it lol) and read a "real" book yourself while you wait for it back. I always have real and e books to read so it works for me.
