Yup. Seriously can't be bothered trying to remember which people prefer which x's. I have no memory as it is & I like to think that people wouldn't fall out with me over me using x's in texts/posts/PMs.

Also, Jenna, you have issues.
& just for your information, you're doing well if you're getting two x's.

Ride it out.

It's rather tragic when showing affection becomes generic. :/

I haven't put much thought in to it. I automatically put an x on the end of a text unless I'm texting a man, or I'm annoyed at you. I use <3 as a sign of affection online and sometimes in text.

I always put a few X's on the end of a text/message, unless I get overexcited and send lots of texts at once!

showing affection itself isn't generic, the symbol is.
maybe that wasn't the best way to word it!

i kind of meant the x is such a frequently used sign of affection that it has kind of become automatic.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Ok I see.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

I put a 'x' on the end of all my texts just out of habit and also to avoid people thinking I'm angry at them. I don't put them on texts to professionals though in case they get a bit creeped out.

I always put an 'x' or a few on the end of texts but...If you get a '<3' off me you should feel pretty lucky, I don't use them everyday.

If someone I talk to a lot was to stop putting an 'x' on the end of a text I would think something is wrong and i've done something bad/wrong.

^ that.

Also if I'm texting someone and I'm putting "xxx" and they just put "x" or nothing at all, sometimes I feel awkward!

I don't use <3 or x at the end of my texts unless I'm supporting them or specifically trying to show love and affection. Same with posts, but of course since this is a support site I end up using it a lot more option.

Fun fact: I always used to use 'x' until I heard some people on here disliked it. I then had to convert to using '<3' :'(

I don't tend to use xx's much, i use them if i am talking to someone who is having a hard time (normals as well as use loons) but I'm not a hugger irl either, i love the people i love but i'm just not a huge touchy feely person

<3 are reserved for gorgeous pictures on facebook, usually of animals

I find x's are good for making things sound less harsh.
Like saying something quite blunt to someone via text and putting an x at the end to show you weren't being nasty.[/quote]

This above-because i find sometimes messages or comments can sound a bit rude depending what its about if i don't put that.If a friend texts me and doesn't put a kiss on the end i wonder what i've done as thats how we all respond to each other.i couldn't be any other way.and i'm trying really hard right now not to stick a kiss on end of this lol!
