Sleep is for people who have to be functional for jobs at 7 AM and work 30-40 hours a week. It's not weak to sleep when life is exhausting.
tu as tant de choses à dire,
mais le tout reste enfermer.
et quand tu ne sais plus quoi dire,
tu te mets à pleurer.
Mais ça ton publique le voit pas,
tu l'incites à rêver, pendant que toi tu le regarde...
I was having this exact same conversation with Katy last night and we concluded that, whilst sleep is indeed for the weak, we should both go and try it. Then I ended up taking deodorant instead of toothpaste to the bathroom (thankfully I didn't try to use it to brush my teeth!) and had to agree that sleep may actually be, I don't know, necessary for life, which is entirely inconvenient.
And I have to be up at 7/8am most days but I still don't sleep!
I get up at 5am every day, except one day a week when i get a lie in and only have to get up at 7am.
But i still don't sleep. And require caffeine in extreme quantities to be able to function during the day. Which then contributes to not being able to sleep. And it goes on....

You don't sleep because you drink caffeine in extreme quantities. That's not "not needing sleep". ._. You don't sleep because you drink a lot of caffeine. You drink a lot of caffeine because you need sleep.

Due to extreme stress its difficult to sleep, so i drink lots of energy drinks and coffee because i NEED to function, but then as well as not being able to sleep because of stress, i also can't sleep because im full of caffeine!
I have had severe insomnia for my whole life. My parents told me that when I was a baby, I rarely slept for more than 5-6 hours a day, and rarely for more than 1 hour at a time. They had to take turns staying up at night to look after me. When I was a child/teenager, I would sleep between 2am-6am every night with no daytime naps. I would never get tired during the day. I just don't need that much sleep. Now I am on four different psychotropic medications (three for mental health and one for migraines and epilepsy) so I get around 7-8 hours of sleep a night, which is a lot for me. The most sleep I ever got was 9 hours a night on 20mg Olanzapine and 15mg Haloperidol.
PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
I love sleep. Really, really love it. I hate getting up in the morning, even though I'm getting up to go to work, which I enjoy. I can go to sleep at 8:30pm and sleep right through until 7:30am.
That said, when I'm being mental, I don't sleep for more than an hour at a time. Most nights not at all. I don't tend to function too well/at all when that's happening.

I should say, I'm not being mad just now. I'm fairly normal at the moment by all accounts. I'm just awake because I'm not at home and I can't sleep when I'm not in my own bed...
