I really have no idea what dreams are but I am intrigued by them and it's interesting what other people think.
I do like hearing what people interrupt dreams to mean - like my previous psychotherapist, I would record my dreams and she would analyse them and sometimes when I thought about it, it was actually pretty accurate to what I was thinking or what was happening for me at the time.
I guess it can be your subconscious and I think things get all muddled up and pretty random.
It's intriguing!

Yes!

I actually take a very Freudian view (but not in it's entirety) - dreams are a way to express your innermost thoughts and desires, it's a chance to express things that you aren't able to during the day.

I would say that they are just a series of random sparkings in your brain, it's the neurotransmitters hitting senses and memories - but I like my dreams too much to be reduced to that :)

Truth is, nobody really knows what dreams are, or why we have them.

the dream occurred at least 5 years before the event took place. it's only looking back that it seems like a premonition. i just thought it was a random dream, but it did apparently signify something.

how can that be me recalling a past event?

"Be nice. Think happy thoughts. Champion silver linings. Love all things (not just cute things like babies and kittens) & when you do love - love like they do in power ballads (you know like on a cliff with the wind in your hair and your eyes shut, knowing you'll never know love like this). Watch out for dog poo. Smile at people - even grumpy ones. Remember anything is possible & whatever you do always try to look on the bright side."
