Actually, the Rainbow Room doesn't technically cover it. Being firmly cisgendered myself it's not something I've ever faced, but it does annoy me when people refer to trans as a sexuality and lump it in with LGB -it's not about sexuality, it's about gender.
'No, I'm trans' wouldn't make sense if someone asked you if you were gay or straight, for example. Transgendered people have a sexuality too, aside from their gender...
While I can see your point Seph, I don't think this is the proper place to debate the inclusion of Transexuals with the LGB community.
A couple of months ago, there was a rather large discussion about the number of "room" threads in General Chat. It was eventually decided that only 2 of the "room" threads would be kept in general, with The Rainbow Room being one of them.
I think that in order to keep the number of "room" threads down that on RYL it does make sense to group Transexual with LGB, as many of the issues that LGBT people face are similar, and it's always better to have a bigger support group than a smaller one.
I have brought up this post with the mods and the rest of the staff, so we shall all see what happens.
Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.
why don't they make and LGBT section on the forum then i find it unfair that because i am Trans i cant have a thread relating to it. I know there is more than 3 trans gendered members here so why cant we have somewhere to discuss our life style?
thanks for the reply Abi :)

This came up also during the big discussion before, and when it comes down to it RYL is a forum for support of Self Harm, ED, and things associated with that, it is not a forum for the support of people who are confused about their sexuality or gender. However, the fact that many LGBT people have a lot of feelings and experiences specific to being LGBT that factor into their SH/SI/ED was recongized during the last discussion and thus the Rainbow room was allowed to stay.
I'm not saying at all that you shouldn't have a place to discuss your life style, but my point is you should do it in the Rainbow Room, to reduce the number of "Room" type threads on RYL.
