Going into hospital is extremely difficult. There are a lot of seriously unwell people in there. It can be lonely and frightening.
I can understand how you might see it as 'having a break', but it is far, far from it. That's not to say it doesn't have its uses, but its main use is keeping people safe, and that's it. It wont cure your problems. It wont make you feel better.
I still struggle with memories of my time in hospital, and it was 6 months ago.

I really hope you can work hard with the crisis team and the people responsible for your care, and hopefully you will be able to stay out of hospital.

Take care.

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: 'This glass is half full'. And then there are those who say: 'This glass is half empty'.
The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: 'What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

I can understand. IMO adolescent wards are not usually as upsetting as adult wards, but that depends on the patients

It can be so stressful, where I was when very sick patients came in there was a lot of alarms, restraints and it was scary seeing someone kick off and try and hurt others. The staff were good and got everyone else into another part of the ward, but I distinctly remember my first night there and another girl my age was psychotic and running into the walls screaming and they had nurses and doctors running down the hallway past my open door [had no choice, it had to be open] to inject her. This happened several times, fire alarms went off, people self harmed and ran away, it could be very worrying when fellow patients escaped.

Its not even a break to illness, sometimes it will just immerse you more when there is chaos going on.

Miss Anonymous is right. The patient alarms and kick-offs can be very upestting

Another problem is that you're stuck in four walls for a long time. I didn't see outside air for about a month once, and I know some other people have had worse. It can get suffocating, especially when they won't give you leave
