Hello... I've posted on the board a little on and off... and thought I'd introduce myself...
I'm Liz. Or LizLiz. Or Izzy. or Elizabeth... or whatever sounds remotely close to my name I'll probably respond to.
I'm 21... in college...Creative Writing major, women's studies minor.
I've self-harmed since I was 12 or 13... I've been trying to quit forever..and have succeeded for small amounts of time (a few months at the longest) but I always seem to end up back at self-harm....or at not eating.... or drinking too much.... or lots of bad coping... but trying to cope more positively..but that's hard to do..especially when you're working through stuff you've never been willing to talk about....which is where I'm at now...so at one of the hardest points I've ever been at....
I have PTSD, major depression, disassociation, insomnia with borderline & avoidant traits (i swear doctors just like to diagnose and keep diagnosing" Basically I'm crazy. But. I've been through a lot. Family crap. sexual abuse. too much to think about.
I don't post much because i'm busy with school and because I don't always know what to say / scared to say anything / hiding in a corner by myself avoiding life... (maybe i'm more avoidant than they give me credit for) so basically... often i'll read posts but i'm hiding in the corner by myself and not very supportive because i can barely keep myself going let alone help others - but i try - i do respond periodically (mainly to posts noone else has responded to yet)
So yeah.... I'm....me. I like to write... read.... and cook. which is bizarre considering i have such issues with eating...but i'll cook anyone food who wants food....i just don't eat it much... -_- Sigh.
Most of my posts are really in the rants section. rather than asking for advice. it's me hiding in my corner not letting anyone in - not letting anyone help - because for me asking for help is one of the hardest things I can do - though I'm working on it - I have a very good therapist now... who I am willing to talk to - and who has really helped me a lot. working on sexual abuse stuff... which is unbelieveably hard to talk about... but I'm working through it slowly...
My favorite colors are red. and green. and purple. and really I can't decide. but that's okay. I like most colors. just not yellow or orange. Actually I hate yellow. someone once asked me "how can you hate a color?" how you can not??
Anyway.... that's me in a nutshell (I know.. cliche.. my creative writing teachers would slap me, not really, but they'd be like CLICHE! ... get rid of it!... and well..sometimes cliches are useful...)
I like semicolons. and punctuation in general. for no apparent reason.
Sometimes I talk in the third person. It's easier that way.
Anyway.

Im 26 and have a nine yr old daughter.
I have been SH on and off since i was around 14/15.
Ive stopped all forms for almost ten weeks now, and struggle a lot but am determined not to give in.
I dont really know what else to write, except all the people I know on here already are amazing, brilliant, funny and great :) (special mention to cranky, shnook, pop, lou, ash, sarah, dash, lib, jay, lielow, and banana, your all so great :) )
And I have the greatest friend IRL, without him I dont think I would have made it this far in my recovery, thanku so much pouty.
Oh and I love cats, but they tend to hate me :( am gonna be a crazy lizard lady instead :P

They say I have traits of a personality disorder, but I have no clear diagnosis.
Just for the record, go cat lady!!!!!! I love cats, I have two living at my mums house who are 18 years old!!! I live in a supported hostel so am not really allowed any pets that dont fit in a cage. At the momment I have a hamster named Rocky, which is basically cat fodder lol.

Tis indeed a good thread....the criteria is fairly lenient. All you have to do in order to post is either be certified 'crazy' or a member of the feline species. You don't even have to be female in order to join. The only person who falls into all catagories is Jess since she is the one and only original 'crazy cat lady'. We forgive her for that though because of her awesomeness. She is second only to me in that respect....I have her in training though so in time she could get even better!
