When I see "urgent" in the Serious Discussion I always think to myself - if it is urgent, do something else - call your doctor, a lifeline, etc. A website isn't always going to get you these urgent responses.

Plus sometimes the thread lasts for ages and that isn't really urgent.

Anyway, I went into R&V yesterday and saw no trigger labels and my heart was so happy, I didn't need to rant anymore hehe

I was the same aimee, I was browsing the boards yesturday, as you do, and came accross the new labels. I got excited and checked the rest of the boards.

It seems so much better already!

I didn't have a problem with the way things were before, to be honest. But I do like this new setup even better. It's so much cleaner and easier to use.

I think we were used to the old system, but I think it just got messy and very overused. People were finding things in their threads that could be triggering that there wasn't a label for, so we cleaned it all up and made it easier. After all, everything's going to be triggering for someone, so if there's a coverall label, it makes it easier.

Just a mention here, I know we're thinking about making a thread in serious, but. We've noticed that after the changes in labels, people are making their thread titles to include trigger warnings. Whilst this is not against the rules or tipsharing, it is unnecessary as all labels are now fitting for any circumstance.

I was wondering about that because what I've been writing about lately is triggering but thanks for clearing it up.

hey i just posted on the mental health board and put triggering labels on. sorry! i like the new labels though, much simpler.

i was just wondering shouldnt there be some on the mental health board? for suicide? or did i just put my post on the wrong board? should it be in serious?

sorry for being a nuisance

I had a quick look at your thread and it seems to be fine where it is :)

Although your thread mentions suicide it doesnt go into huge amounts of details and is more around Dr's and so on and so it a) doesn't need to be in serious and b) it shouldn't be triggering in terms of the new labels.

I hope the above make sense

I don't think there is a reason to do that now as the mods have made a "all may trigger" kind of label for R/V.
Meaning anybody who goes into that board should expect it all to trigger in some way.
It therefore feels unnecessary to say exactly what it triggers for.

:)

Hi

Please don't add labels to your thread eg (ed) as it defeats the new labels! So we will edit them out as jane says r & v has no labels as it's expected to contain all triggers

Yeah, as above really. Please don't add labels since it kinda defeats the purpose. If you want to let others know what the thread contains then you could always incorporate it into the title?
