I can really relate to how you're feeling about not wanting to take your meds. I took myself off my Trazodone & Lithium in February and to be honest I was a bit of a wreck! Initially I was OK and felt quite cocky as though I could manage without them BUT I then fell on my arse! I managed 9 weeks but that was it. I'm now back on them and they make a huge difference, not only do I feel it but my friends and family have also noticed.

In some ways it was the best thing I could have done (Please don't think that I am advocating stopping meds by saying that because I definately am not) because it made me realize that I need my meds, that they actually do help.

I really think you should talk to your doctor about it. I know that meds are a bit of a pain in the backside but once you find the right one/combination they can and do work wonders. Work with your doctor and you'll get there.

Take care xx

they were working well..the only meds that have worked this well for me.

thanks for replying everyone xx
I know exactly what you mean...I often do things just because it's another way to hurt myself and I feel like I deserve it anyway. I know that's not really helpful but I just thought I'd let you know you're not alone. I have come off my meds before without seeing the doctor about it and gone into withdrawal and it's horrible. You do not deserve to be ill...you deserve to get better and to be healthy and happy no matter what...I hope that you can find the strength to believe that because it's half the battle. Try and talk to your doctor...you do deserve to be well. Stay safe and big hugs. PM me if you need to talk x x
