Read the book years ago, I didn't realise they'd made the film until I was at work and saw the book with the words 'now a major motion picture' on it.
I dunno, I'm pretty tempted to see it. Might wait till it comes out on dvd though, I hate crying in the cinema >_<
When I did English last year, my teacher talked about this book ALL the time. She read us the first chapter and I found it pretty interesting, but I didn't get to study the book this year as I don't do English anymore.
However, that's probably a good thing, studying it as in-depth as we do could probably ruin the book for me, it has done for a lot of books I've read before :P
I do really want to go and see this though! Once the snow's gone away I'll see who wants to come with me to watch it :D
I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.

Susie Salmon, a fourteen-year-old girl, is murdered by her next-door neighbor in suburban Pennsylvania. She tells the story of her family's reaction and subsequent disintegration after her own murder.
Susie's father Jack suspects the neighbor, Mr. Harvey, but the police do not have evidence to hold him as a suspect. Jack becomes obsessed with the neighbor, while his wife and Susie's mother Abigail has a short affair with the lead detective, Len Fenerman. Susie's sister Lindsey finds out about her mother's affair.
I have read the book but im kind of too scared to see the movie because i saw the trailer and the guy that did the murdering looked really creepy and reading and watching is different, i can block it out more when its read then when im watching. but let me know what you guys think when you see it?
yes the guys was very creepy looking but they dont actually show the murder which is good. They kind of go from suzie running out of the underground room to her being dead....
sometimes being strong means not holding back the tears but letting them fall

my fur baby girls are my life <3
r.i.p my beautiful girl jackie. i will love you always no matter what - 6/5/10
The book was really sad, I liked the fact that it was written about AFTER she was dead. I related to Ruth, because nobody really understood her.
Did anyone else relate to Ruth?
i just saw it (on the internet) and it was soo good! it made me cry like the book did! it puts things into persepctive with how death can really effect people around you.
Update: I saw the movie a week ago. And, for a movie made out of a book, it was very good. I'd recommend it.
oh non-believer, please believe me.
is there honestly nothing in this world
that keeps you living & breathing?
you're a ghost in your own
goddamn city.
Amazingly - my mum just ordered this book - so Imma borrow it and read it before I see the film =)
Sarah: Give me the child.
Jareth: Sarah beware. I have been generous up till now. I can be cruel.
Sarah: Generous? What have you done that's generous?
Jareth: Everything! Everything you have wanted I have done. You asked the child be taken, I took him. You cowered before me, I was frightening. I have reordered time. I have turned the world upside down, and I have done it all for you! I am exhausted from living up to your expectations of me. Isn't that generous?
