Thanks petal... I see a psychologist weekly, just the psychiatrist occasionally. I think he's going to suggest a mood stabliser next, once the AD had settled... not sure I want another set of side effects but we'll see. At least the ADs are reducing my appetite and I'm definitely in swimming costume shape for the summer, without even trying! so there are some benefits ;)
Looking back, I think part of the problem was a stressful week at work (running training sessions which is always exhausting, and these groups are full of angry, negative people - so negative most didn't turn up, hoooray!) and that sent me 'down'. Things wind down for Xmas now though, so hopefully a month or two of low stress and lots of sitting around chatting!
take care of yourself, I'm glad you've got the therapy stuff to a point you're comfortable with!
xx

thanks everyone for your support - things have got better! This AD seems to be having an effect, and I've just started on a MS to see if that will nuke the final symptoms (lamotrigine - so no need for blood tests... just the possibility of a fatal rash, but 'no other side effects'!)
Here's hoping this will last a while...

Hi Ce!
yes, it made laugh.. the psych said 'no side effects except sudden death' - well words to that effect... how long did it take for you to have a reaction? Have been taking it for 3? days now, so far so good. Apparently it affects about 10% of people, which is high, but worth a try because better for you than lithium if it does work...

so far so good... have started on 2 weeks of 25mg, then up by 25mg every 2 weeks until 100mg
just the extreme tiredness to deal with, but that's the AD not the lamactin - sounds like you've got something similar going on...
don't you just hate all this meds stuff?

well, in this time on economic uncertainty, we must try & keep the wheels of industry turning! Though I'd rather be throwing my money into more pleasant things :)
