I had to strain my eyes, and did so because I wanted to see what you put because it was you who I wanted to reply to elsewhere in the forum in the first place. I'm just saying it would be easier if it was all in standard font in the first place. Then there's be no need for messing about with zooming and such for particular people's threads.
So watch your 'if you really's' and 'obviously's' because they're a little judgmental and assumptive to be quite honest.
The whole tone of your post was a bit off putting and accusatory for someone I was more than willing to try and help out (you obviously don't care about that.) I do really want to reply but that doesn't mean I'd be happy fiddling around with settings all the time.
I honestly didn't think a thread in FC&Q would be such a challenge! Bloody hell, heh heh.

Just if it were me and I really wanted to post a reply it wouldn't bother me that I had to zoom in because I want to reply if you get what I mean. And If I didn't want to reply on account of it being too hard to read then I'd just move onto another thread and forget about it because its there fault at the end of the day.
So I personally don't see where any problem comes in, I either reply to the thread pressing a few extra buttons to zoom in or I move on to another thread that is readable. Simple.

but yes, different fonts annoy me. most of the time i can read them fine, thats not a problem, i just think it is super lame to change the font to make yourself ~unique~ or for whatever lame ass reason.
To be fair pressing ctrl + is not that hard to do, and if you really wanted to reply it takes all of 2 seconds? Way to go on the effort front!
For the record, doing this on a Mac does not work. I nearly imploded my computer. Or maybe I'm just a technophobe.

I don't mind fonts - do what you want with them. But when people write in yellow, I get sad because it hurts my eyes. If it's important though, I will highlight.

Okay, I will use the ctrl + option / highlighting techniques in future. If I think it's worth it. Maybe I am harsh in the way I think it's not important to be individual and pretty with your writing because the content is what matters most (especially in support threads) but I'm not the only one who thinks this way. [Linda was the same]

No, 'a big deal' wasn't made anywhere It's just not quite as easy to read is all.
I did not once say that I thought the most important thing was for the person to be individual, I was just pointing out simple solutions to the problem that you brought to the community.
No, I know you didn't but that's the general impression I get of why people change their font. It wasn't aimed at you. Your short cuts etc were helpful, thanks.
A poster ^ not far up said they change their font to make it pretty.

I think another point to make too, though it doesn't affect me, is that some people are dyslexic. In some cases of dyslexia it is easier for people to read different colours other than black or different fonts so that could also be a reason for it. There is software for computers that can change the colour of your screen/ font for dyslexic people (and others who find it easier) but not everyone is aware of that or can afford it and so this may be another reason why people do this.
My friend writes in pink on another forum because she finds it hard to read in other colours as she is dyslexic.

Yeah, I'm not saying I like people to type in different colours, it can sometimes make it hard to read them but I often just think it's up to them and they may have a reason for it; in some cases I type my own personal views in dark blue on parts of the forum and have thought about using it across the whole of RYL but that's just a personal preference (and a colour that is easily readable) and though when I use it it has it's uses and is often to make my own feelings more noticeable (to myself and others often so that less confusion can arise in some areas; not in an arrogant "look at me, my views more important than anyone elses" (not that I'm suggesting anyone is thinking that!) obvious they are my own additions, I often think it's not worth the effort elsewhere.
What I often do is if the colour is one that is difficult to read such as a really bright or pale colour is that I will highlight the whole text in that post and that quickly allows it to be read easier without any real effort as at times it can be almost impossible to read (though I think if people are wanting or needing specific support then it would be worth them thinking about picking a darker colour/ easily read font).
The font size doesn't really bother me though I can see why for some it would cause problems or just make it harder to read but as others have said there is a zoom function on internet browsers. As well as that, Windows (I don't know about macs) does also come with an option where you can have the words spoken out loud which also may help others (though from what I remember having used the basic windows one just mucking around is that it is quite annoying and 'bitt-y'). It's under Start (>All programs; Vista) >Accessorys > Accessibility (/ Ease of Access) > Narrator. There is also a magnifier under this option though zooming with the browser is probably the easiest option in most in regards to needing the text larger.
