Anyone ever scared of answering the phone?

and yeah i'm the same about making calls aswell..and i have to call up uni next week for a couple reasons and i can just see myself sat there for hours aswell.

I'm the same. I never answer the phone if the number is withheld, or I don't recognise it. Usually I don't even answer if I DO recognise the number. For some reason I always expect it to be bad news.

I haven't read all the replies. But i do relate so much. I have always been 'scared' of the phone. Never ever liked it. I did go through a period where I didn't mind it but now i'm back to being really anxious over it. I sat and watched my phone ring about 4 times. I didn't know the number but from what I could gather it was from uni so of course I started panicking and freaking out that I had done something wrong LOL turns out it was the counsellor. But I hate hate hate private numbers. One tried to call the other day and I had my phone on silent but I watched it light up and couldn't bring myself to answer it. I just kept telling myself if it was important they would call back/message or if it was a friend they would find another means to contact me. I get anxious calling people too. Even my best friend. Anyways didn't mean to write a story.. just your not alone.. although I'm sure you can tell already LOL. *hugs* I have no advice either :/

i hate speaking on the phone, answering it or phoning.

i'm yet another person who hates answering the phone or phoning people. i sometimes answer my mobile because i know who's on the other end which sometimes helps. but yeah i will walk to sort out stuff which could be done over the phone.
