basically if you're gonna cook rice twice, it has to be kept completley hot all the way through, so don't boil it - leave it to stand and then fry it, even the food standards agency warns that the spores aren't killed by the first cooking and bacteria that it turns into (during the standing) don't get killed when re-heated. they also stress that it should not be reheated more than once (and only reheated once if the rice is cooled quickly within 60mins and refrigerated for no more than a day).

rice grows bacteria in the heat, that much is obvious. if you leave it long enough for the bacteria to grow at room temperature then obviously the bacteria (which eventually turns to mould) is not a good thing to eat.
that's different from not being able to cook rice twice. mostly because it takes longer than 60 minutes for the bacteria to grow into something deadly or even poisionous, and because for the most part i would assume that you would do everything in the kitchen that you need to do in 60 minutes. if the rice is put in the fridge (ie. not room temperature) then it's okay to cook it x many times, before common sense / time limits take place.
i'm pretty sure since i've eaten rice every day for the past 21 years and half the time that's how we keep it in my house.
I am cooking it tomorrow...Although now I'm a bit nervous about the rice thing. But will boil it then add it.
I shall tell you all if my bf likes it or not. Lolz. :)

If you leave anything out at room temp and then reheat it later, you're likely to get sick lol. But growing up with mostly persian dishes (which 99.9% include rice) you reheat a lot of rice... never died yet that I know of :P

Okay so I did it.
Although I used some noodles as my other half wanted noodles. But it turned out really niice according to him. Although I didn't get any (as he ate it all) because I wanted to try it, as it looked delicious he said it was good.
So thanks for all your advice. :) I'm becoming really proud of my cooking, lolz.

Stir fry's are fun to cook and boost your confidence when one turns out actually nice! They are quite easy to cook too so it's all cool.

I don't do stir fries often, but one thing I've foudn that works is putting a little bit of water in the bottom of the pan if you're frying leafy things, that way things steam a bit more.
I tend to do the meat and the veg seprately; I'll cook the meat until it is just done, remove it from the pan, cook the weg through and put something in for flavour, put that on a plate, put the meat back in the pan and put some sauce on it before putting it in with the veg. Tbh, stir fries aren't really my thing, so this might not be the best way to do it.

I love putting peanut butter in stir-frys. People find that really weird, but it's no different to having vegetables in a cashew nut/peanut sauce, or having peanut satay!
I love stir-frys :) They're so quick and easy and cheap, I basically live on them!
And as for rice - my boyfriend used to fridge his left-over curry and rice, then re-heat it the next day. It's not advisable, but he's never once been ill from it.
I don't know whether that's just him, though :P
dreaming, a friend of ours makes a huge casserole dish of satay sauce to take to bbq's etc, she uses peanut butter, sauteed onions (til they're soft), chilli flakes/powder/puree (accordign to your own taste) and lime juice/cordial. it flies out.
i accidentally got some on my cheeseburger once, tasted good. also good to put on bbq'd chicken. and i've heard it's good to baste meat with when frying/roasting, but not on the bbq as it sticks and just goes black.
