(ps. you're renting system seems very complex compared to here....here you see an ad, ctc the landlord, view it, then decide if you want it or not basically. But you do have to be very very fast. We viewed this place within 1/2 an hour of it being listed online and after meeting us, he pulled the ad and he gave it to us the next day, our anniversary as it turned out!)

hehe @ romp! you can do it that way here, but most landlords rent through an agency (estate agent), who you have to ring to view the property, then make an appointment to do the paperwork, they then check references and you have to pay them an admin fee to do it. it takes about 4-6weeks usually here.
