I went and posted this on Facebook after I read it, and two of my friends turned it into a really deep-thought discussion about it. I agree with what the initial meaning behind the poster thing was, but these two took it to another level - and they wanted me to share it with you. Oh, and the one who seems to be mocking the French, he loves them really!
Also, after, re-reading I realise that my friends have some opinions that, when taken out of context, or if you don't know them that well, would make some people cringe, be slightly offended etc. I am sorry if you do feel like this, please let me know and I will ocme back and edit it, I just didn't wanna do that straight away, because it just wouldn't make it sound right. But I have *'d out the swearing =D

whales are huge, on land would find it pretty difficult to get around, i'm sure, and communication with humans would be fairly hard.
mermaids are all women, despite a lack of any sort of genitalia, and a woman is not what i want to be.
and neither have legs, which could pose difficult, say... if i wanted to ride my bike, which i love to do :)

I'm afraid there isn't so you'd have to give up you're bike, or the the only human left when the rest of us are whales/mermaids.

Oh course you have a choice, like most people do generally about their weight. I have to say, you are giving quite a good argument for the mermaids... especially the ability to be more nimble =D
JM i'd be a whale... simple as.... then i wouldnt have to feel bad about being fat... and i have heard the sex life of a whale is rather good! ;p
however i do see the positives of being smaller than a whale.... and i think the gym should have used the terminology would you rather be a diabetic lard a*se or not?.... that would get my attention.
JM and also.... how does a gym make people into mermaids? mis advertising... you could probably sue for that!

(you can tell i'm thinking about this far too much).... if you sued them and made loads of money ecause it destroyed your self esteem and made you want to jump of a bridge, then you wouldnt give a sh*t abut being fat cus your rich (well i wouldnt!).... and if you did you could just pay for liposuction and save becoming a whale or a mermaid resolving all problems!
