No answers I am afraid Katie but wanted to post to say hi and that I am so pleased that things are still onward and upward for you.
Not being in a recovery mode at the moment, the thought of recovering someday is alien and unknown and scary. You are being courageous and as ever, incredibly wise and insightful.

Hi,
Thats really amazing you're taking the road to recovery. I can see how hard its being for you. I just wanted to say that although its hard now, hopefully itll get easier and easier, until one day its possible you will feel normal again. Just thought id try and give some encouragement because it sounds like you're doing good. Also id agree that its a good idea not to go on that forum again, as i know there are many negative forums out there encouraging behaviour thats not really helpful, and it sounds like that may be one of them, so it sounds like youve taken a positive step there.
I hope all goes well for you

Thank you. :)
I've pretty much left the forum, though am reading threads, to, um, make sure they're not talking about me.

You already know this, but please don't. I have done it in the past, and I know why you are doing it. Really I do. But if it wasn't healing when you were there it's unlikely to do you much good now you have left. You can't control what others say about you, however much we might want to and by reading what they are saying you are hurting yourself all over again (assuming of course they are saying things about you now you have left).
Try to keep to places that support and nurture you (like here). Not the ones that destroy.
x

I think you are an admirably strong woman Katie and you should be proud of yourself for taking these steps forwards and recognising what is best for your recovery. I think Becca is right RE reading the other forum. I'm not sure how you learn to trust yourself but I do believe that you should trust yourself on this one as you seem to have thought about it logically and decided this is the best decision for yourself and it's good you're making boundaries.
*sits with you*

Thank you so much. :)
I made my last post on the forum, with this quote -
If only it were all so simple? If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart? -- Alexander Solshenitsyn
Which says it all really.
