This ex-personal residence of Sarah Winchester is now a popular tourist attraction due to its sheer oddness. Winchester demanded daily “from-the-ground-up” construction around-the-clock, without interruption, from 1884 until her death in 1922. This resulted in a huge mansion with seven stories (now four), 160 rooms, two ballrooms, spider motifs hidden in the designs and staircases and doors leading to nowhere.

feeling pretty down at the moment.
things have been going wrong all day.
I slept thorugh my alarm this morning, ended up 2 hours late to work.
Mood has been pretty much down hill from there.

So apparently only one in every ten publishers will accept unsolicited material.
Out of a list of 22 publishers of the fantasy genre (the genre I write) only two of them will look at your work without the backing of an agent.
That's almost two hours of work to find all that out.
Wasting my time: So you don't have to
Both are reputable publishers, mentioned in the Writers and Artists Yearbook, and they have works on the shelves of bookshops. Both WH Smith and Waterstones. So no cons and attempts to take money from you.
