They're like long arm-warmers, I guess, but made from stretchy cotton rather than wool or whatever, and they're quite cheap. .
Thanks for this, I'll be getting some

A nurse told me to use vaseline to help with the skin stretching when healing (coz it was quite wide & couldn't be stitched)

This what I thought of immediately. I searched 'lace wrist bands' so you could search any variation of that really!
This has probably been mentioned before, but I thought I'd throw it out there. There is a homeopathic topical called arnica that helps reduce scars and bruises(As well as help with muscular pain). They have a gel, cream, and ointment. All health food stores will have it. Aloe vera gel also helps a lot. Those two helped me get rid of some scars on my legs.
Okay as strange as this will sound it did work abit. I found that using my facial cleanser, toner and moisterizer on my scars actually makes them look less noticable. Just thought I'd mension it.
Not sure if it'll work for all brands (logically it should) but I use Simple facial care clearnser and toner and johnson moisterizer.
You're better than this. Breathe in. Breathe out. It'll be okay. I promise. Just don't forget to smile :)
The funny thing is,
nobody really ever knows how much
anybody is hurting.
We could be standing next to somebody,
who is completely broken,
and we wouldn't even know.
Mine are pretty light, nonpuffy scars so I just use cocoa butter lotion and this anti-aging lotion my mom got in the mail (don't worry, I asked before I took it) Olay Definity. It's ment to help with discoloration/age spots but it's been helping on my arm scars. Plus the cocoa butter lotion is overall just good for the skin.
The anti aging lotion is a really good idea! Thanks
okay, so i'm on swim team and i'm in a PE class right now which is going to be doing a swimming unit in a matter of weeks. usually i'm able to stop cutting through swim season or at least keep it minimal, but this semester i never even thought about PE. i have pretty bad scars on my arms and thighs. how should i hid these when all i am aloud to wear for the class is a swim suit???
Try putting henna designs over them (only if they are completely healed) Putting a cool design over your scars would help cover them and it won't come off in the water. You may have to re apply it because pool water can cause it to fade more easily, but depending on how well you take care of it the henna can last 2 weeks. I have found that it will fade more quickly on your thigh than your arms so do a design that you will be able to duplicate easily. Here is a website that helped me figure out whether or not to use henna http://www.hennapage.com/henna/encyclopedia/skin/scars/ Henna won't work for everyone, but it worked for me.
I don't know if this has already been mentioned but for me wearing a lot of hair ties around my wrist works really good. Not only are they tight enough to where they stay where you put them but they also could pass as a bracelet. Just thought I'd share :)
Going to Italy on Monday..gunna have to wear long sleeved cardi's and leggings that cover my thighs. I'm really dreading the heat and I really don't want to be sweaty and headachey...how I can keep myself a bit cooler?! Anyone know anything about cooling sprays or tips or anything?
