with the doppler, time 30secs and count how many heartbearts you get, then take your pulse, it should be about double - if not then it's your heartbeat not babies.
you should get 3 heartbeats at the bottom of your stomach, left and right by hips are yours, the other should be faster and be babies. i couldnt pick ours up til 16weeks but then i'm larger. mand x

I didn't go to hospital so can't advise you there, but I just had normal pants on afterwards and my midwife suggested just using a (baby) diaper as they are so much more absorbent than any pad. I think I went through three before things calmed down enough to start using pads.

I thought I'd go insane in a my tiny flat (two rooms + toilet) during my 'period of confinement' as they call it. But honestly I believe I was happier in my own surroundings than in any spacious hospital! Can you move around furniture or put some bits in storage to help it feel more spacious/comfortable even if it's just a little while until you move?

Right, the little lady is asleep so I need to hoover up after breakfast and hang out the laundry while the sun is shining!
there is literally no room as its my parents house, 7 of us living in a 4 bed space, we don't have the largest room, and the birthpool would come through the ceiling if we had it upstairs, downstairs every room has windows either outside or to another room, but i just wouldnt be happy having brother and foster brother especially being in the house.
i wanted it just me and hubby in a dimly (as possible) lit room, with my mum and daughter in the house but elsewhere, who knows? i may want to cuddle chloe during my labour? she's good when i'm in pain, she strokes my hair and kisses my face and scratches my back - she's well trained lol!

wow Helena wish I had a bump like that. I'm 12 weeks on Friday, and have got an appointment with the midwife next Tuesday. Can't wait for my scan to see my baby again :) Hope everyone is doing ok x
so how far are you? hehe i had a friend thought she was pregnant coz she had (not as big as yours) a bump, the dr poken and prodded her and she farted really loud/hard and it just went flat again lol!
still looking at hospitals, 10weeks to go is the wrong itme to make decisions! mand x

Yep we took Madeleine, but she stayed in the waiting room (they had good toys there!) with my sister, and was bribed to be good with crisps and chocolate buttons.
My dates are spot on! They didn't change my due date at all!

We (Adam and I) are heading to the hospital, I've been having severe headaches and my temperature has just reached 101; I also fainted twice today. We're very worried, but hopefully it's nothing serious. Adam suggested I let you guys know whats going on, and he also promised he would continue to write if anything is happening.

ok so my mint/menthol addiction is back. i'm snuffing a vicks vapour stick as much as my nose will tolerate, i've gone through a pack of airwaves a day, i just ate a pack of xxx mints... the only thing 'stron' enough is the snuff stick.... anyone know of anything menthol particularly, otherwise mint that is stronger than airwaves/chewing gum - i like it to be as strong as the first chew, but i find they all lose flavour within a few chews and are not strong enough for me.
i craved it with chloe and would make myself sick chewing so many pieces of gum at once to keep the flavour up, i once had a whole packet in my mouth at once!
